Camera Advice- which to buy!!!!
We are in market for a new Digital Camera.
We are so unsure what to purchase. I would love a NIKON SLR but I am not sure if it is over my head.
I love to take pictures and with the baby coming even more so, but I don't want to purchase a camera that I wont even know how to use all of the features. But if the NIKONS are easy to learn than I am all for it.
Here is the features that I MUST have:
1. NO DELAY!!! That is my biggest concern. i hate the cameras that have that delay on it. I always wind up missing the picture then.
2. Nice zoom
3. Clarity.
What do you think is my best options?
A point and shoot or an SLR? Any any recommendations would be great!

If you want no delay...SLR is the way to go. I have a Canon and love it. Many women on here have the Nikon and love it also. Both have auto function that you can use till you learn more about the manual features.
Can't go wrong with either.

Re: Camera Advice- which to buy!!!!
I just bought this camera and posted about it the other day so sorry if I sound like a broken record! I just got it yesterday and so far I LOVE it. I will take some pictures with it today so you can see the quality if you'd like
My new camera
O I also wanted to add I also have the Nikon D40 and that is great for vacations etc, but I also always bring my small point and shoot with me because sometimes its not realistic to carry around that big camera!

no delay = SLR
or, a very expensive point and shoot. so if you're going to spend the money on that, you might as well spend a bit more for the SLR.
we have a Nikon SLR and it was worth every penny!!! you should see some of our pics from Europe - just amazing!!
and another benefit, SLR's take awesome night pics! we took a boat tour on the Sienne in Paris while the sun was setting. 1/2 way through, it got dark out. DH took incredible shots!! so that's something else to consider.

Nikon D40- perfect for the casual user(very easy to use with settings already on the camera) but with manual functions if you decide to learn more. You can't go wrong.
