Re: camping food
When I think of camping I think hot dogs, chips and s'mores!
You could bring anything that doesn't need to be refrigerated: granola bars, fruit snacks, pretzels, chips, bread, peanut butter.
Maybe bake some cookies or brownies to bring for dessert?

Ditto to all the above. Some homemade snacks that store well are always good.

Re: camping food
I like to make foil packets of mixed vegetables before I go camping...just put whatever veggies you want on a large sheet of foil with some olive oil, spices and garlic...keep it in the upper part of the cooler til you're grilling, and then just toss it on the grill for about 15 minutes or so (checking it at about 10 minutes to see how they're doing)...this is what you get, and it's damn near perfect every time:
And also, you will need an ample supply of beer.

I like to drive to the store once a day when we are camping bc I hate how the cooler gets all watery and it's such a pita to keep the meats etc dry.
I usually prepare enough for the first day while I'm home- shrimp skewers, veggie kabobs, chicken burgers and some pasta salad/fruit. Then each morning I drive to a Wal-Mart or whatever and pick stuff up that doesn't need any prep like sausages- usually chicken types, pre-made burgers like bubba. i have also done portobello mushroom caps on the grill as well as plantains.
I always bring pb and bread bc my ds1 is very picky and doesn't eat much meat.

Re: camping food
Sausages, hot dogs, burgers, steaks, corn on the cob wrapped in foil, foil packets filled with potatoes and veggies as PP said.
For dessert I'm dying to try something I pinned - take sugar cones and fill with marshmallows, nuts, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, coconut, etc - wrap in foil and heat - less messy than smores!
