Can a clogged tear duct come back?
DD was born with a clogged tear duct but it went completely away at about 3 months...now all of a sudden her eye is gooky and teary again(shes 5 months now)...I thought once it went away, it was cured because the tear duct opened up...does anyone know?

i had 2 kids with it,and it went away by 6 months old.the doctor told me how to massage the corner of the eye to help it.

Yes-DD's came and went for the first 4 or 5 months. I did the massage and that would help it go away for a while. I don't think it has reappeared since 6 months or so.

DS had it from day one and by 3 months we had it completely cleared...but when he is sick he usually gets discharge from that same eye. Right now he is getting over a cold and has the clogged tear duct again (11 months old). We just use warm water to clean and massage the eye and I also put a little acquaphor around it so that the skin calms...he rubs it a lot.
It doesn't last too long now.
