Can we start a "best toys for specific age groups" thread?
With the holidays approaching, I thought it would be nice to have a reference from Moms on what toys were their favorites during specific ages.
I guess I'll start and keep adding as I think of more.
My two year old daughter just adores:
Melissa and Doug Wooden Peg Puzzles
All Crayola/coloring related toys/items
Thomas the train, Dora, Kai-Lan, Gabba (Basically NIck JR.)
I'm interested in what educational toys are good options for kids of different ages.

This is a good idea, I'm always wondering what to get DS next.
DS is 13 months and LOVES his FP Farm. He's had it since about 6 months and he enjoyed it even then. The toy has "grown" with him as he's discovered how to "do" all the different things.
He also has a Playskool Busy Basics: Busy Poppin' Pals toy that he started liking around 8 months and still enjoys.

Re: Can we start a "best toys for specific age groups" thread?
I never seen this toy on any list, only on LIF. LIF rocks above all IMO for toy recommendations!
This toy is DS absolute favorite, he's been playing with it since he could sit up at 5m and still enthralled in it for long periods of time at 8m. I think it will still be a big hit for many months to come because he doesn't yet get that he can stack the tree and animals.
Age 5m and up to I guess 12m Playskool Busy Ball-Tivity Center
A huge surprise was this peek a boo book. He can sit and flip the pages back and forth for a good 10 minutes all by himself, it keeps him so busy.
Age 8m to I have no idea, I never expected this book to be so much fun, its not sold in the typical book stores, I found it at Costco
