Can you share your DS's first birthday theme?

I'm starting to think about Chase's birthday party and I can't decide on a theme. Part of me wants to go all out boy and do something really boyish. Whatever that means and the other part of me is so sad about him growing up, so I want to stick with a more babyish theme

I'd love to see pics if anyone has them of their DS's first birthdays

DS1 had a construction theme

I don't have pics on this computer... but I did a Panda theme. DS is obcessed with pandas, is always dragging one around with him at home, so I figured why not? I did everything in black and white, with hints of green for the bamboo. I made a cake of a panda sitting up, black and whte cookies as the favors, bamboo centerpieces, black, white & green balloons...etc. No where sells anything with pandas on it...less they have a pink bow in their hair...so it was hard, but it came out well. :)

we did regular Mickey Mouse, not the light blue baby one.

for DS 1 i found papergoods that were 1st birthday with blocks. i went with that. i did some other things with blocks for the decorations



for the twins i did traditional mickey and minnie (red and black....not mickey mouse clubhouse stuff)

jungle/safari theme but with baby animals. His party is next month.

we did a jungle safari theme with cute jungle animals and DS had the cutest safari hat... i don't have any pics on here but I have them on fbook if you have some time to check them out. (i can't link from work)

we did an airplaned themed party for DS's first, it was in the fall, he was obsessed with planes at the time

I did rodeo cowboy from Celebrations Express-doesn't seem they have it but if you google it others do

We did a music theme bc Kieran is OBSESSED with music!! We got lots of music decorations, rock 'n roll plates, cups, etc. We got inflatable guitars, microphones, and saxophones, as well as little plastic tambourines and maracas and just had them out for the kids to play with. We did goody bags for all the kids with a couple of music things in them (harmonicas, maracas, etc.) Got pretty much all the supplies at Party City. I don't have many pictures of the decoration, unfortunately, but here's what I have:

for DS#1 I did a prince theme
now for DS#2 I'll be doing a mickey mouse theme (he's obsessed)

i am doing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme..
using all the primary colors.. blue,yellow,red and green!

For DS1 we did Rollie Pollie Ollie.

For DS2 we are doing Yo Gabba Gabba!

We did a Cookie Monster theme...

I made my own invitations:


I made my own "smash cake" - it wasn't the best looking cake around, but I was happy with it.


Favors were wrapped in brown paper bags - they were chocolate chip cookies (and some had some toys for older kids)


The room was simply decorated with blue/white/brown linens and balloons. I didn't go for the commercial decorations.


AND finally, I used Legendary Entertainment for, well, entertainment! They were GREAT!
