Candace Cameron Food & Fitness Diary...
She's got an amazing body and I was always like WOW but she seriously spends 2hrs a day 5 days a week working out and lives mostly on salad and shakes. I love salad but I am not a fan of shakes. I don't think I could ever eat this little or have the dedication to work out that hard. That being said, I do still wish I was a rich celebrity who could eat expensive healthy pretentious food and be able to spend 2 hours a day with my personal trainer....

Life is too short. I enjoy food. I enjoy wine. I enjoy not working out like crazy. Something like that is way too extreme for me.

She looks amazing. And I think it's great if she actually ENJOYS the food and the workout. For me, it wouldn't work. Like Nell said, I like to enjoy my food, alcohol (here and there) and I don't exercise at all. But, to each their own and she really does look great.

Candace Cameron Food & Fitness Diary...
In her past, she suffered from an eating disorder. That type of illness never ever fully goes away. I would imagine that this is a healthier way of her feeling in control while still being nourished healthily. It's still sad in a way.
I know someone who also suffered. Now they are very very very very very into fitness and eating clean. While I'm happy that they no longer suffer, I do think it's just another form of control.

Good for her and she looks great, but like others said, I could not stick with that everyday. I would need some cheat days or I would end up at the McDonalds drive thru at 3am in my pajamas!

Re: Candace Cameron Food & Fitness Diary...
I consider myself a fairly healthy eater and I exercise 5x a week but after reading her food diary I've lost the will to live. I would be starving and sad.
She follows a vegan lifestyle, and while I definitely know this isn't the case for all vegans, I have found that for many people veganism has become like a sanctioned eating disorder. I know so many people that I feel have become vegan as a way to justify really restrictive low cal diets.

I had read this article yesterday. I don't think her current lifestyle has much to do with her eating disorder history but more just her career. She is a public figure who's job it is to look good. I'm sure her diet exercise routine is not unlike most celebrities.
Wouldn't it be nice to have the time and money to work out 1-2 hrs a day with a trainer and have amazing healthy food options at your fingertips. I can't even find 30 minutes to get to a gym.

Re: Candace Cameron Food & Fitness Diary...
That seems like not much food, I could never. I would cry if my dessert was an apple. She does look great but I agree it seems like she's not fully past her eating disorder. She mentioned something on the view about how she was in better shape when she was doing dancing with the stars but she was working out something like 5 hours a day, but it doesn't seem like this is all that much better. It must be hard to have body image issues and be in the public eye.

Re: Candace Cameron Food & Fitness Diary...
Yes eating disorders are often about control. Sometimes when people feel they don't have control of things going on in their lives, they turn to the only thing they can control- which is what they put in their mouths.
In this case, I can see this being a modifed version of that. Controlling everything you eat down to the last morsel.
But who knows. Some people are just naturally more disciplined
Me, I'm like a dog- I'll eat anything you put in front of me until it makes me throw up!

She used to be a little chubby as a kid, mostly baby fat and she did an episode of full house when she was really young about having an.eating disorder, I.can.see how.something like that can stay with you, like tracey gold on growing pains, where she was always teased for her weight by kirk cameron on the show. I think I just found the common denominator, it's kirk cameron's fault lol. Seriously though I imagine this is how a lot of celebrities eat.
Lol yeah, I'd say I'm the same, I'm like a doberman, I would bite someone if they try to take my food.away.

Re: Candace Cameron Food & Fitness Diary...
THIS is a celebrity telling you the ACTUAL TRUTH about what they put in their mouths. Not the size 0 waif telling the world "oh I don't diet, I eat whatever I want ........" yeah, ok ....
I LOVE the fact that she specifically says "I keep a pretty strict diet ... MY JOB DEPENDS ON IT"
Yes, there are SOME people who are naturally extrememly thin, no matter what they eat - but the average woman, to look like that - is eating VERY clean, VERY strict and WORKING OUT.
I love the fact that she didn't lie about how diciplined she has to be to look like that

Re: Candace Cameron Food & Fitness Diary...
At least she was honest unlike other celebrities. In my experience I had to eat very little and work out a lot in order to stay in perfect shape, this was me pretty much from age 22-27. Now I don't obviously follow this regimen anymore because I could stand to lose a few lbs lol. But yeah it annoys me when celebrities are like "running after my kid helps me stay this way" right....

I give her lots of credit! There is no way I would be able to follow this diet. I pretty much eat in one meal what she eats for the whole day...

Re: Candace Cameron Food & Fitness Diary...
I admire how candid she is about it.
I don't like shakes at all - so I never have that type of breakfast - but her oats and coconut milk and salads are very similar to my usual breakfasts and lunches. And I work out four times a week and walk on my lunch breaks. And sometimes I get off the train two stops early and walk the rest of the way to work or to home. And yeah, sometimes my dessert is a piece of fruit...because I can't eat dessert every day; in fact I follow a low-sugar, anti inflammatory diet per my oncologist (and I don't use artificial sweeteners at all)
It's not easy but once it becomes routine, it's just how you end up operating.
I feel the best I have in years.
I really like how she is so real about it.

I have to say I admire this and wish I could be so disciplined. I'm sure it becomes second nature after a while. I wish I could follow a clean eating plan (more food than candace though), but I'm too addicted to sugar and crap lol. I'm like a junkie looking to score sugar packets in dark alleys.

LMAO. Me too. I always say to DH- I wish i was one of those people who like ENJOYED working out. Who got a high off it. Who looked at it as stress releif. Instead I come up with a million excuses when it comes to exercise- like oh a root canal? I'll take that over the gym ANY DAY.

Hahah same here, especially the excuses to reward myself with junk, i had to sit in rush hour traffic, I've earned this large fry and big mac, extra mac. I think I'll wash it down with that stack of pancakes. I wish I could be like the runners i know. I get winded just watching them warm up.

Candace Cameron Food & Fitness Diary...
I've never seen her look better in her life. I read the article first thing this morning, and I've been thinking about it all day. I've been dying to make a positive change myself, and I thought I could use some inspiration (not just eating, but exercise, too) No way. I just don't think it's realistic to "eat" *ahem* like this all day every day. I didn't think one could realistically survive on salads. Although I appreciate her candor, I thought that it was just bleh. I remember when Mariah Carey was at her fittest and she also talked about surviving on a bleak diet of broth and fish. Where's the vitamin C? Good sources of lean proteins? Omega-3's?
