canker sores
omg they are in my mouth and spreading all over we are at day 10 and they hurt so bad anyone have any suggestions on how to help me?

I get them so bad when I drink any sugar free citrus drink or fake sweetener. It's so painful.

eat lots of yogurt! if you can handle the yogurt with no fruit/no falvour that is best

I get them alot. Sometimes when one goes away, another one starts. When I take L-lysine (an amino acid) I don't get them. But I have been lazy and not taking it. Had over 4 canker sores in the last 2 mths.

I rinse with warm salt water and use zilactin. But for me it seems like it takes at least a week sometimes 2 to really go away. Hope they get better soon! I know how uncomfotable they can be!

dh and i use lysine as soon as we feel it coming on.
also, i cut out citrus/acidic foods and eat more yogurt. I also try to eat more nutritious with more non acidic fruits and veggies.

I found peroxyl mouth wash to be very helpful. It's made by colgate and it's medicated so I think it's only meant to be used when you have sores.
I actually feel a few in the wayyyyyyyyyy back of my mouth and on my throat!!   but I obviously can't use a mouth wash for that because to get to where the sores are, it would require swallowing it!!

I recommend Colgate Peroyxl a lot to my patients that suffer with them.
