How do you get rid of a canker sore?
I have one and it is KILLING me. I have been rinsing with warm salt water and putting peroxide on it and it's still there and hurting 4 days later  I haven't gotten one in the longest time. I think I keep making worse by irritating it when I brush my teeth.

i'm prone to them and have been getting them my whole life. Honestly nothing helps mine. I get HUGE ones too. Just keep rinsing with salt water and stay away from acidic and salty things (to spare yourself from the pain) it will eventually fade.
All of those OTC things will help for mins, not in the long run

I am wondering if I should see the dentist. Even my lower jaw hurts and when I press the side of my face it is tender. I am guessing it is from the canker sore. I'll probably call in the morning and see if there is anything they can give me.

I get really bad ones, always did. Nothing really helps heal them, only time. One thing that does help prevent reoccurance of them is an amino acid called Lysine.

Don't use peroxide - it irritates the surrounding skin and can prevent the sore from healing properly.
You can use Colgate Orabase to cover the sore until it heals.

UGH I get these too!!! all my life!! it's painful!!
i just suffer through them. idk of anything that cures them. they have the over the counter stuff that numbs them.. but idk about healing them.

I use Peroxyl by colgate. It saved my mouth when i had braces. I literally had canker sores and blisters every other week for 3 years.
its a little expensive for the bottle, but it works!

i had one last week. took a lysine pill and it was gone by the next day. i also ate some yogurt, didn't eat any acidic foods, ate a little healthier. also i try not to use toothpaste with a certain ingredient in it ( the ingredient is in almost all toothpastes, except the natural ones). it would irritate it. dentist told me that and would get a prescription for cream for it.

Put a plain aspirin on it for about five mins, just let it sit. That usually helps.
