your opinion on the best carseat for a 41in 38lb 3.5 year old?
Graco Argos is my favorite for ease of use and installation
question about this. My dd is about the same size as maymama's dc.
The only thing is i have the Graco MyRide and I hate that carseat. I hate the strap, buckle and how big it is. I find my Britax much better and eaiser to use.
Is the Argos similar to the MyRide?

My son is growing out of his baby seat so time to get the next car seat. Any recommendations for a Rav4 and ford focus.
My son is 18 lbs and 27 inches

Nothing like it. The Argos is a combination seat, meaning that it starts as a forward facing car seat and then converts to a booster. In the question above, since the child is about to transition to a booster in the next year or two, purchasing another seat like the MyRide would be impractical. I do not like the Britax combination seats like the Frontier because it is very difficult to install. For ease of use and installation, the Argos is my choice here.

See this is my issue. Have the Frontier but have to use the seatbelt to install since we can't use Latch anymore (due to DCs weight). The Frontier always has me wondering if we have it in correctly. My DD is 41.5 inches and 40 lbs, almost 5. What seat would you recommend if I were to get a new seat? What do you think of a booster by Graco? Do you really feel we should seats with a harness over the seatbelt?

Both are difficult cars in that they are not that large. Also middle installation should be avoided in these cases. Depending on cost, I would go with the Britax Marathon or Boulevard on the high end; The Graco Classic Ride 50 on the lower end. For more detailed question - FM me

The Frontier is one of the most difficult seats to use and over 90% are not installed correctly. That said, it is also a very car dependent seat meaning that the installation varies a bit from car to car. FM me, perhaps there is a chance for us to get together for me to inspect the installation.

Car Seat Chris is Back
Would the Pioneer be okay for a Chevy Malibu? My DD is 28 pounds and 37 inches. She is 3 years old and we want something that will grow with her. It is for my dad's car and he is not very patient. So something easy to use is key...

Re: Car Seat Chris is Back
Hey Chris!
I was recently had my car seats installed/inspected but it was 2 ladies doing it, like 3 weeks ago. THey were great... but... I am having an issue...
I have a 2008 Honda Pilot. 2 Car Seats... 1 is Graco Argos (your recommendation I got after speaking with you) and 1 Graco Snugride Infant.
ORiginally the Graco Argos was installed with latch behind passenger seat. Due to my childs weight we have now changed it to the belt installation. THey also moved the car seat to behind the driver side which I am ok with b/c I needed to add the infant seat.
However. My issue is the Graco Sungride. It is installed with the latch behind the Passenger side for the new baby coming next week.
My HUGE issue here is... My husband cannot fit in the front seat anymore... They said they do not recommend putting the infant seat in the the middle b/c of their is no latch, and the seat belt is a connecting seat belt I guess you call it? But I honestly feel like I have no other choice... My husband is 6'3" and literally cannot sit in the passenger seat.
I also do not want to put the infant seat behind my seat b/c I am nervous about parking on the street and having to take the infant seat in and out of the car on the street side.
Do you have any advice? I actually called yesterday to leave a message for you and make another appt... but it said not to leave any messages until after the 3rd. But I am due this week.
Ideally... I would like to put the infant seat in the middle.
Thanks Chris in advance!

Unfortunately this is when you discover your car is not as large as you thought it is. Call me on Wednesday and I will get you in. The seat cannot go in the center next to the Argos there is not enough room and in fact it will not solve your front seat problem. I cannot promise anything per-se, but I may have an adjustment that will give you a bit more room.

Go with the Grago Argos - less expensive and much friendlier in adjusting and using - also much more reasonable in cost for your father.

Do you think the Argos is as safe as the Britax? I am more worried about safety as opposed to cost. Thanks!

Despite what others may say here on my response - please take what I say with regard to minivan vs. SUV. Buy a Minivan NOT an SUV. As far as seat - depends on your price range. For the Matrix - High End Britax Boulevard or Marathon - they will give you the most room with regard to space in the car. Coco's need too much room - Evenflo's are too wide, Graco line is good - if you need more specifics - FM me

The new Frontier90 with Click Tight Technology has one of the easiest installs EVER!! And it's pretty much fool proof!!

I agree with you on the minivan opinion, its just a matter of getting used to going from such a small car to a huge one!
I thought britaxes don't last long for tall kids who want to erf? Which graco do you recommend?

Please see that my response is specific to the question that was asked. Your response with regard to the Frontier 90 does not fit here. Also, I do not agree - the Frontier as well as the Frontier 90 is completely car dependent - it does not work well with every car and is not fool proof. I do however include it in a recommended list dependent on the question asked and the car involved. Long and short of it also is that when faced with a budget, the Britax is no better than any other seat. I do love the Britax, but the Frontier is not their best design.

The Britax Marathon and Boulevard will more than last you - they do adjust well for taller children. The reason I am recommending them is for the specific situation you presented me with. Remember we have an immediate need in a specific car. These will give you the best front seat room - that said the Graco Classic Ride 50 would work but win't last as long because of height - but for the price you can not go wrong.

Re: Car Seat Chris is Back
I am pregnant now and currently have a 2006 Civic ex Coupe and my husband has a Mustang. We have debating about buying my moms 2011 Jeep Liberty. I prefer waiting until I am pregnant with #2 to get a new car. Any experiences are fitting a infant carseat in the civic and still able to have a person in the front passenger seat?

So the Pavilion for the Maxima, a Boulevard or Marathon for the Rav and Tiguan... and a Pavilion for the Jeep? I have to get a seat for me and my husband and then also each of my parent's cars since they pick up DS from day care once a week. (The Jeep and Tiguan are my parents cars)
Thanks :)

Currently PG w/ #1. We have a 2012 Prius and a 2002 Honda Civic. Any recommendations on which carseat to use that would hopefully fit both cars for a newborn-infant? Also a late-2000's Toyota Corolla b/c my mom will be watching the baby sometimes.
Thank you!

Hi! We have two cars - a ford explorer and Buick lacrosse. We have a britax marathon but are looking to get a second seat. Which would you recommend and for which car? Dd is 6 months and about 18lb. She's currently using the Chico keyfit 30 in one car but seems more comfy in the britax
