Hey Chris!
I was recently had my car seats installed/inspected but it was 2 ladies doing it, like 3 weeks ago. THey were great... but... I am having an issue...
I have a 2008 Honda Pilot. 2 Car Seats... 1 is Graco Argos (your recommendation I got after speaking with you) and 1 Graco Snugride Infant.
ORiginally the Graco Argos was installed with latch behind passenger seat. Due to my childs weight we have now changed it to the belt installation. THey also moved the car seat to behind the driver side which I am ok with b/c I needed to add the infant seat.
However. My issue is the Graco Sungride. It is installed with the latch behind the Passenger side for the new baby coming next week.
My HUGE issue here is... My husband cannot fit in the front seat anymore... They said they do not recommend putting the infant seat in the the middle b/c of their is no latch, and the seat belt is a connecting seat belt I guess you call it? But I honestly feel like I have no other choice... My husband is 6'3" and literally cannot sit in the passenger seat.
I also do not want to put the infant seat behind my seat b/c I am nervous about parking on the street and having to take the infant seat in and out of the car on the street side.
Do you have any advice? I actually called yesterday to leave a message for you and make another appt... but it said not to leave any messages until after the 3rd. But I am due this week.
Ideally... I would like to put the infant seat in the middle.
Thanks Chris in advance!
Unfortunately this is when you discover your car is not as large as you thought it is. Call me on Wednesday and I will get you in. The seat cannot go in the center next to the Argos there is not enough room and in fact it will not solve your front seat problem. I cannot promise anything per-se, but I may have an adjustment that will give you a bit more room.
Ok... Thank you Chris! I will call and leave a message Wednesday.
THANK YOU!

Hi! We have two cars - a ford explorer and Buick lacrosse. We have a britax marathon but are looking to get a second seat. Which would you recommend and for which car? Dd is 6 months and about 18lb. She's currently using the Chico keyfit 30 in one car but seems more comfy in the britax
Which car is the primary car? How much time would she be in the other?

Currently PG w/ #1. We have a 2012 Prius and a 2002 Honda Civic. Any recommendations on which carseat to use that would hopefully fit both cars for a newborn-infant? Also a late-2000's Toyota Corolla b/c my mom will be watching the baby sometimes.
Thank you!
Chicco Keyfit (my first choice for your cars), Graco Snugride 30

I am pregnant now and currently have a 2006 Civic ex Coupe and my husband has a Mustang. We have debating about buying my moms 2011 Jeep Liberty. I prefer waiting until I am pregnant with #2 to get a new car. Any experiences are fitting a infant car seat in the civic and still able to have a person in the front passenger seat?
Sorry just saw this now --- Civic is small and the Mustang is not made for a child seat - have you purchased an infant seat yet? If not go with the Graco Snugride either the classic 22 pound or the 30 - the handle can be up on those so it gives more room

Would the Pioneer be okay for a Chevy Malibu? My DD is 28 pounds and 37 inches. She is 3 years old and we want something that will grow with her. It is for my dad's car and he is not very patient. So something easy to use is key...
Go with the Grago Argos - less expensive and much friendlier in adjusting and using - also much more reasonable in cost for your father.
Do you think the Argos is as safe as the Britax? I am more worried about safety as opposed to cost. Thanks!
Safety is the key of all my answers - Yes - it as safe if not safer because it will install better and be used correctly easier

Law is that a child must be in a seat up to 8 years old. Height and not weight is the exception - 4'9"

She's in the 2005 explorer weekends only (which is when we take longer drives and run errands)
She's in the Buick for about 40 minutes each day total during the week (20 mins each way to/from daycare)

Car Seat Chris is Back
Hi Chris. I have two Britax Marathons and a Graco Snugride 30. Is it possible to fit the three seats in a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer? One Marathon would be rear facing and the other forward. If not, can you recommend an SUV this would work in? Thanks!!

The answer is maybe - there are really no easy SUV that work. This would be easier to talk about on the phone - I will FM my number to call me.

Re: Car Seat Chris is Back
Hi Chris. Wondering if you could tell me, because I was looking in Baby Bargains for the Gracos Argos that you mentioned, and they say its very similar to the Nautilus. Is there a reason you would recommend the Argos over the Nautilus? I know the weight max is a little smaller in the Nautilus but DS is very thin so I'm fairly certain he will always max out the height before the weight.
Also, we currently have a True fit and a Cosco Scenera but he is really getting too tall for the Scenera so we wanted to get a new seat for him. Do you think the nautilus or Argos will fit ok in a Prius?
Thanks!

Actually they are basically the same seat with the exception the Argos does not require any strap adjustments - that said either work great.

Re: Car Seat Chris is Back
I have a 2 year old and am pregnant with my 2nd. Right now my DD is behind the passenger side (we have a cx9). I want to install the infant seat and am not sure which side to do it on. Im leaning toward putting the infant on the driver side. With one child, it was safer to have her on the passenger side to load her into the car but between a toddler and an infant, it seems safer to have the toddler on the passenger side since I will have to load the toddler (screaming, wiggling, toddler) into the car first and then the baby. Ive seen people who have their toddlers on the driver side have to leave their infants on the sidewalk while they put the older child in the car and this doesnt seem to make sense. Am i wrong? is having the infant on the driver side actually unsafe?

Hi, I am currently pregnant with #3. Is there a way to safely put 3 children across one bench seat? (Dodge Durango). We tested and we fit the carseats across (I prefer with the infant seat not in the middle for easy reaching). Do you feel this is safe?
My children are 3 yrs old. 35 pounds & 40 inches tall and 16 months old 31 pounds & 36 inches tall, Due w/#3 in March.
TIA!

I have a question. I have twin 4-almost 5 yr old boys. They have the Graco high back booster in one car and are basically grown out of their Britax Marathons due to height. We need additional boosters: They weigh 45 and 48 lbs and are both around 46" My requirements:
High Back, 5 point harness Converts to a regular booster(desirable but not required) Great safety ratings Comfortable
Also-I have been reading that latch has a max weight limit of 50 lbs. Is this true? Should these seats be installed with the seatbelt and top tether?
I need to know the exact model and car you have
I have a 2011 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring.

Re: Car Seat Chris is Back
Might be a silly question, but here it goes -
My twins are 19 months old now and sometimes like a few Puffs if we're on a long car ride or excursion. We have Britax Advocate 70's. Someone had gotten me a Fisher Price snack/drink cup holder that attaches to a stroller or carseat on the side and I was contemplating trying it out.
Is it safe to attach this occasionally?
http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Travel-Snack-Bonus/dp/B004VSFA3E
Thanks so much!

Maybe - please be careful in thinking they will fit - when you tested it - did you actually strap them in or did you place them next to each other?
Please FM me so we can get into specifics

There are fewer crashes on the passenger rear than the driver rear - that is why you normally see the younger child on the passenger side. Also normally the rear facing seat requires more room than a forward facing seat so the younger child is on the passenger side for that reason also.

Re: Car Seat Chris is Back
Hi Chris!
We have a 2 year old twins - DS1 is 26 1/2 lbs and 24 inches and DS2 is 28 lbs and 36 inches and . I drive a Nissan Rogue and have True Fit Convertibles in there, still rear facing with the head rest attached that is good RFing until 35 lbs, and will last us FFing until I think 65 lbs.
My husband drives a Honda Pilot and we need to get seats for his car.
I am leaning towards the Graco Argos or Nautilus since those seem highly recommended.
Two questions:
Will those be a good fit for his Honda Pilot? Is there a difference between the regular and Elite models of the Argos?
What seat would you recommend for my Nissan Rogue when the boys out grow the True Fit seats? Also the Argos/Nautilus?
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer our questions!
