Carpal Tunnel
Anyone else get this? For the past 2 weeks my hands go numb and tingly, only when I'm sleeping. I have GD and was worried but the OB said it's completely normal pregnancy side affect and should go away afterwards. Anyone else have this and did it go away after? I never had this during my first pregnancy

Carpal Tunnel
I had it for most of the 3rd trimester with #1. It wasn't just numbness but pain almost like arthritis. I could barely open my hands upon waking up. It's very common. Mine went away pretty much immediately after delivery.

yes at first it was numbness then it was pain in my wrist now it's both plus my hands get stuck if i have them in fists at night.
the dr just suggested a brace, it wasn't super bad so i just deal w/ it.
i read on here or on the bump? not sure. most people's go away right away, some stay for a few months.

Crashing....
I had terrible carpal tunnel starting around 30 weeks. Disappeared the second I delivered. So strange.

Re: Carpal Tunnel
With my first pregnancy, I had it from about 25 weeks on. Started as numbness, then moved into genuine pain. Slept every night with arm braces and iced them as I was falling asleep. Was so painful….am hoping it doesn't come back this time.
My pain went away within a week or two after delivery, but the numbness lasted about 2 months. I remember it because my fingers were so numb I couldn't feel the snaps on DS' onesie! So frustrating…..but it did certainly all subside eventually.

Re: Carpal Tunnel
I had this with my first pregnancy. I had to wear braces at night and during the third trimester, some of my fingers were numb/tingly 24/7. I got a lot of feeling back right after delivery and total feeling back within a few weeks after delivery.

Good to know, it's keeping me up at night. Didn't start until the 35 week mark. Hopefully it will pass after I have the baby

Re: Carpal Tunnel
You are probably swollen. Try eating less salt (if you can). Should go away. I had bad sciatica that went away.

I had it during my pregnancy. It was the worst, nothing you could do. I slept w/ the braces, that helped a bit.
It did NOT go away for me after I delivered. I had to get carpal tunnel release surgery on both my hands.

Carpal Tunnel
I had it through most of my 3rd trimester with my daughter and it continued for about 5 weeks after she was born.
It was horrible intense pain and would wake me up at night. After DD was born my hands and arms would go number when I held her and I could not bend my wrists without them hurting.
I really hope I don't get it this time around.

Re: Carpal Tunnel
I have it so bad since my 2nd trimester. Its been the worst side effect of pregnancy for me. It's in both of my hands and my fingers are absolutely numb, pins and needles constantly. It wakes me up in the middle of the night because I am in so much pain and now it even goes up to my elbows. My OB said acupuncture may help but I haven't tried. I also tried one of those wrist bands but I found that made it feel worse. Fingers crossed that it goes away right after this little one arrives!
