Carpet - best pricing and installation???
We will be in need of carpet - and I am looking for good pricing and quick installation....
HD offers the 139 - so does Lowes right?? and who's quicker on the install?
Any other suggestions - I will be in the Mass Pk area...

I would like to know this as well.
I just went to HD last night with hubby to price out some carpets. We need it rather quickly but it looks like the norm is about 2 weeks for install. I plan on going to Lowe's today, they have the same deal on the install. We need to carpet two bedroom and the stairs going into our basement.

I called Empire this afternoon - and just as the commercial says they can come the next day after the estimate...
And they will (up to a certain amount) match a competitors price... you need a written estimate.
That's what I got from calling the main # and speaking to a rep.
Please let me know about Lowes if you go.... thanks!

All Carpet on Jericho in Commack has the same price for install maybe a little cheaper and they install pretty fast in 2 das or so. Give them a call I am waiting for DH to be done with DD rooms to have it installed, we already bought it, just waiting I think they have another store in Seaford too. # is 631 493 9496 we used John but they are all great. We also used Empire once yes they come the next day and they will kinda price match but they didnt come near all carpet

Just know that if you use HD then you have to pay additional for everything- like the padding. Most other places include everything in their price. I have used HD with no problems, but it is actually working out cheaper to go with G. Fried for the baby;s room. They do take about a week or two for install. However, HD told us it would take 2 weeks as well.

I used Kelley carpets on Sunrise Hwy, just east of Rt. 135. They had very good prices, came and measured same day, installed next day. And they were very nice people too. My DH was going to have someone he knew install it and they guy was very quick and gracious about quoting us the price without installation as well. We ended up using them for install and all went smoothly.

Lowe's did an excellent job on DH parents house... they came in one day and finished a whole house.. it looked great! and very affordable too!

We used Scott's Carpet in West Islip on Sunrise Hwy - best price we found and the installation was flawless.

We looked at both Carpet Depot and G Fried. We are looking at carpet being done too.
Both are expensive. G Fried MUCH more expensive.

We just started looking at carpet right now.
We are doing a family room (16x24), a hallway (3x9) and an office (11x12). We got 2 estimates so far:
Kelly's Carpet in Seaford $2500 (includes pad, installation and rip up and haul away of existing carpet)
Carpet Depot in Wantagh $1600 and $1900 (includes pad, installation and for $130 rip up and haul away of existing carpet).
These were all similar carpets - 100% nylon, frizese, with good padding.
We're going to Lowe's over the weekend and possibly one other carpet store. Empire is supposed to come on Monday, but I think I will cancel with them.

We had Lowes come in and do our carpeting, they did such a great job!! Only the 139 for installation, the rest of the cost includes everything-padding, time, carpet etc.
I would recommend them in a heartbeat!

we used house of carpets in valley stream on rockaway (recommended by DHs parents and his aunt). the price was good, we got good Burbur upstairs in 2 nice size rooms and i think that was 700 (i think it was left over on a roll so we got a good price) and that 2toned kind for the 2 bedrooms. price was very good i dont rememeber what the total price was though
but we did save because Dh tore out all the carpet himself
