Carseat for Toddler when flying

We're leaving for Aruba in Feb. Mason will be about 21 months. We're going to need a carseat for any taxicab rides we take. We usually don't go too many places once we get to the timeshare, but I want to be safe.

Last year he was 8 months and we brought the Chico Key Fit 30, which worked fine. We just put the seatbelt through the slots.

Anyone have any suggestions what carseat they travel with?

We use the lightweight carseat that is in my DH's car. I believe it's a Cosco one. We tried using the Britax on one trip but it was way too bulky and heavy.

I just ordered the cosco scenera for my mom to have in NY when we visit. I got it on amazon for $39 and free shipping, it's very highly rated/recommended and lightweight.

I second the Cosco Scenera. It has good reviews as a spare car seat and airplane car seat. I think I read somewhere that's it's one of only two that can be rear-facing on a plane, although you probably dont need that. It's really light and you can't beat the price.
