cereal in bottle for spit up/reflux question
Son is 12 wks tomorrow....The gastro said to give oatmeal cereal in bottle to help with spit up... we are on zantac three times a day also. My question to moms who did it... what bottles did you use? I use Dr. Browns and am thinking the cereal wont get thru with all the little pieces to keep the air out? If So can I leave the pieces out? They said he is too young to be spoonfed... any thoughts or advice would be appreciated thanks!!!

Re: cereal in bottle for spit up/reflux question
I just started doing this a couple of weeks ago with oatmeal and Dr. Brown's bottles. The extra pieces don't cause any problems.
Just so you know, I've found if you do use the Dr. Brown's bottles without the extra pieces, they leak all over the place.

We did this with DS at about the same age. It did help. We used Dr. Browns with either a Y or #3 nipple. Leave all the pieces in or else it'll leak & not work properly. It def made a difference for DS. GL

we started spoon feeling early on to get her used to it. We put cereal in her bottle and we use the playtex vent air with a large nipple and had no problems

I do them all at once. I shake them up to blend the cereal, and if they're made ahead of time, I figure it gives the bubbles time to go away.
