We're using a dresser. I feel like a changing table is a waste of furniture, space, and money. Once we are done with it, it's garbage. Plus the space will be available on top of the dresser anyway. And, our nursery is small, so we can use every inch of space. So for us it was a no-brainer.

Ditto!

ETA: I have an 18 mo old DD and it worked just fine for her...will do the same with this baby.

we are also going to use the dresser ...I thought about a separate changing table but I decided (& other people told me) that it's not really necessary if I have enough room on the top of the dresser.

I agree. That's what we did for DS and will be doing the same for DD.

i have both and I LOVE the changing table! changing table is on our 1st floor, dresser/pad is in her room on 2nd floor. I could not imagine not having the table. So much space for storage - we have 6 bins (2 shelves underneath).

bin 1 - medicines, hair brush/comb, thermometer, dh's box of disposable gloves Chat Icon, diaper creams

bin 2 - diapers

bin 3 - bibs and burp cloths

bin 4 - blankets

bin 5 - waterproof pads (i use over changing pad cover), changing pad cover, extra boppy covers

bin 6 - hats, gloves, hairbows, pacifier clips
