Re: Changing your food lifestyle
My kids have been eating clean since they started table foods. ALWAYS organic fruit/veg, grass fed meats etc. I do purchase processed food simply because I do not have the time or desire to bake anything. So we use Annies, Nature's Path, Cascadian, etc. If we go out to eat, we relax a bit but do try to go places where we can at least get grass fed or antibiotic free meat. My husband started to eat clean(very clean) about 45 days ago and lost 23 pounds so far. I am 1/2way there. My dinners are all clean. Working on breakfast and lunch..Good luck

Re: Changing your food lifestyle
Like PP have said, for me making small changes is more realistic. I refuse to get rid of carbs altogether, but I have definitely lowered them significantly. I basically have half of anything I normally would- half a bagel, half a sandwich, but I will over stuff it and have a healthy side of veggies or salad, half the amount of pasta or rice. And when I do have pasta/rice I only use whole wheat, brown rice instead of white, veggie pasta, etc... (With the rare exception of having pasta at a restaurant). I honestly felt very hungry at first, but I have trained my body to have smaller portions and it works for me now. I try to buy organic fruits and veggies, but I don't beat myself up if I buy regular. I am starting to buy more organic meats, but not entirely for budget reasons. Milk and eggs are all organic. I can't stay away from processed foods altogether, but I have been buying organic for things like Mac-n-cheese, crackers, granola bars, cereal.

Re: Changing your food lifestyle
I think it is about moderation. I believe in the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time I eat very well; clean, organic, whole foods. However, I allow room for indulgences. We enjoy going out to eat once or twice a week - I will not give that up. If I am hungover - then everything goes out the window and I need McDonald's ( nothing else matters at that point lol!). So for me, it is about what works for me and the idea of never having something again etc, would lead to failure. I enjoy eating healthy but I enjoy other things as well. It is about balance for me- I don't like extremes.
This is why I could never to a strict Paleo diet where cheese is a no-no, For me, a world without cheese is not a world I want to be living in
