Madison, CT- we were evacuated this afternoon (we live on the water), but are staying with friends a mile inland and it is extremely heavy rain right now with winds starting to pick up. Lost power for 3 min around 10:30.

Heavy rain...heard thunder a little while ago...a bit breezy but not heavy wind.
Cats are starting to get skittish. They've been cool all day up until about 20 minutes ago.

I'm in West Islip, it's raining - lightly and I haven't heard any thunder or seen any lightning yet, though according to some friends on FB who live here too claim otherwise.
I think they're just more drunk than me.

DH just took the dog out. We're in Forest Hills - rain and wind both picking up. We're on the top (6th) floor and noticed water coming in at the top of the staircase to the roof (one flight above us). We're going to sleep like normal but with flashlights next to the bed. We'll see what the morning brings!

We put kitty on a leash about 30 minutes ago. Just in case we need to dart to another room or the basement. I'm bleeding a lot from that adventure, but it's worth it for her safety. She's not happy right now.

Winds picked up with last few minutes
Heard one rumble of thunder and saw 2 flashes of lightening
