Christening Gown.. WWYD (with poll)
I was thinking about using my wedding dress and having the chrstening gown custom made from the material. However my sister has three boys and I bought the christening gown for her first son, my godson..All three nephews wore it... and I thought it may be nice to use that gown and have it be passed down to other kids.
WWYD? Im torn.
ETA: my sister would love for my son to wear the christening gown.

I think it would depend whether your sister offered the christening gown for you to use for your DC. If she did then it would be a nice family heirloom to pass along for the family. If she did not offer it then I would use the fabric from your wedding gown.

I'm having outfits made out of my wedding dress. Since we are team green I am making 2: an heirloom dress for a girl and a romper set for a boy. This way they could be passed down for our kids and grandkids.
these are the styles I'm giving to seamstress to replicate:
for a boy
for a girl
This was my wedding dress (MORE than enough fabric... lol.)

I think you should use the christening gown that your three nephews used. It is a lovely sentiment and a sweet way to carry on a tradition!

I voted since you are having a boy to use your nephew's gown. If you have a girl in the future you can make her gown out of your dress that she can pass down to her daughter. So there will be a boy gown and a girl gown being passed down in the family.
