WWYD Christening dilemma......sorta long, sorry
DD's christening is on Sunday. I already called the restaurant and gave them my final count not including one of my friends and her DH because she never got back to me. The RSVP was the 14th. She called me on the 17th to tell me she would let me know on the 18th what she's doing. well the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st came and went. I called the restaurant on the 21st and gave them my final count.
One of my friends who's coming in from out of state tells me the other friend might be coming...*** I tell the out of state friend she still hasn't called me to tell me anything.
So friend from out of state calls the other airhead from for me to find out what exactly shes doing. She says shes coming to the church and going to go to the restaurant for a little while but isn't going to eat cause her and DH are going out to dinner for there anniversary.
Ok, she here's my dilemma...Do I call the restaurant and have them add two more chairs but tell them there not going to eat. Do I not do anything and deal with the extra seat on Sunday?
I personally think if you not going to be eating with everyone else, why bother coming. Are you going to just sit there and watch everyone else eat?
Help...
TIA

you could always ask for 2 more chairs w/o place-settings the day of.

I would just leave the count as it is. Either they can just set two more places, or you might have a couple of no shows because of illness or something - that happened to us.

That's tough. And annoying. Don't you hate organizing these things and people pull this cr@p?
It may be just me, but I would make the extra settings and suck up the extra plates. People always *say* they're not going to eat, but it would be awkward if they get there and they change their mind and such. But that's just me.
I learned to deal with that kind of rudeness, I had a person respond yes to my wedding with a +1 and then ordered dinner and left before it was served. Really? REALLY? What the eff? &^%$#!

They sound so flaky. I would call her again myself and ask her what the deal is because you have to give a final count.
I hate when people act like they have never put together these kinds of events-they should know the stress and not add to it.
In the end, I would probably add them into the count just to avoid the hassle.

I wouldn't do anything now. I would just add them if they decide to come. You don't want to pay extra incase they decide not to show.
