City Employees tax help

My husband and I both work for NYC and every year they say my husband owes money. They never count me when we file the 1127 (we file jointly). Every year I have to call them and give them my SS# to combine with his. This year they asked him (not me) to send in his federal schedule A plus itemized list and a copy of the federal schedule 2106. I feel like he ( and me) are being audited.

Should I call them and ask if I should send my info too? They say this will happen every year until one of us retires. Is this true?

Don't know if this helps , but teachers do not need to pay city taxes, but other agencies , such as FDNY does.
