computer gurus - erasing internet history
Couple questions:
1. how does someone erase Internet history? You know how when you go to the top of the browser, you can pull down the list of recently-visited sites? How does someone erase that history?
I know it can be done (it was done to my work computer  ) - I just want to know how it's done.
2. Is there a way to disable that ability to delete this history without a password or something? Or a way to back up the Internet history so you can keep tabs on what sites are being visited? Like a parental control for someone with kids / teens?

I can answer part of your question...
To erase the history, you can go to tools - internet options and you can clear the history of the sites that were visited.
You can also set the number of days that something will remain in the history.
I'm not sure about the other stuff though.

yup thats for internet history
as for tracking sites and parental controls--you can buy software for that -- like Net Nanny of KidsWatch. you can find similiar software online or online

Spector Pro is an awesome website. It even takes snapshots of the screen every 45 seconds so you can actually see what they were seeing.
Unfortunately my friend had thisloaded to watch what her children were doing and found her DH cheating!!

You can also view the files if the history has been erased.
I don't know about password protecting it because my kids aren't using the computer enough that I need to do it, so consider this a gratutious bump....there are some major techies on this site that should know how.

It really was crazy but she had MAJOR proof for the judge. Her Ex caved like a baby when she used it against him and got EVERYTHING she asked for in the settlement. He was always a jerk. She dersereved much better than him!!!
