Confirmation on a Monday?
I went to Catholic School too and it was during the week. It was just me, my parents, my sponsor and her spouse (uncle). That was pretty much it for most of my classmates too.

That's the norm. I remember mine was on a weekday afternoon.
As for parents working, it's a very important day for Catholics so I'd think it'd be a non-issue and they'd take the day off. Parents take off for other less important things (at least in the eyes of the church).
I get that but I'm not the parent, lol.
I would not expect anyone other than very close immediate family to attend if it was during the work day to be honest.
This plus sometimes space is sometimes very limited so each student can usually only have 2-4 people there anyway. I had my parents , grandmas , sister ? (I think) , and sponser. We had a party that weekend with everyone.

Re: Confirmation on a Monday?
I received my confirmation in 1992, and it was during the week. I dont remember what day, but I remember all of us not going to school.

Re: Confirmation on a Monday?
Yes, it's the norm during the week. I think mine was on a Wednesday and I loved it because I didn't have to go to school.

Confirmation on a Monday?
Think it's pretty typical now. My parish does them on a Thursday. I know when I made mine many years ago, it was on the weekend!

Re: Confirmation on a Monday?
Its because the bishop has to be there and there's only so many weekends he can do, so most schools are given a weekday.

Confirmation on a Monday?
The parish where I grew up just had theirs on Saturday at the 5 pm mass, but they lucked out and were given that day because the pastor is a bishop. All other area parishes had theirs during the week, because there are only so many places he could be at once.

Re: Confirmation on a Monday?
My nephews all had to do it during a weekday and nobody expected me to come to the church - instead we just met up for dinner that night.

Re: Confirmation on a Monday?
Confirmations are always during the week. I was told it was due to the availability, or lack thereof, Bishops.

Re: Confirmation on a Monday?
Mine was a weekday, after school. Only my parents, brother & sponsor came, which was pretty standard. We had a party on the weekend for the rest of my family.
