converting from drop-in to free standing oven
The oven in our new house is an older drop-in. I really want to replace it with a free standing, but we would have to remove the cabinetry below and behind the current oven. Has anyone had any experience doing anything like this? I really, really, really don't want to replace it with another drop-in, as I hate losing the space for a warming or storage drawer.
This isn't the greatest picture, but you can get an idea. Don't you just love the mirrored backsplash? Image Attachment(s):

jackie, is that a pink sink?
if you're out at the house this weekend, give us a call and we can come visit you or if you guys want to stop in and see us.. would love to see you!
sorry, have no idea about the stove question though. Can't imagine it would be too hard? you'd remove the existing unit, take out the wood and then replace it with the new stove.

Nah, the sink is off-white...the bathroom is where all the fun pink stuff comes in!
We will definitely be at the house all weekend painting and doing other stuff, so we'll give you a call and we can take turns visiting each other's new places!

you may have a problem if your new stove is shorter that the exsisting one. Go and measure the stoves in the store and see how tall they are. You dont want to have a stove that is shorter than your countertop.
