Re: Copycat wedding planning- has this happened to you?
I did not mind it as long as the people admitted that they got the idea from me. They did not have to tell the whole world but I felt that they should at least acknowledge to me where they got the idea. I had a lot of non-LIWers who fell in love with the slipper basket idea and really it was an idea I got from someone on the boards so I did not exactly have a patent on the idea. Then when I got a digital coffee table album, some friends who were on the fence about it decided to go through with it. Again, that was their prerogative and I just liked the fact that they told me that it was my influence.
If someone was really making the entire thing about my style I would find it weird. In fact, I know someone who completely copied someone else's wedding, not mine but it still creeped me out and I wondered what was wrong with them not to use any ideas that did NOT come from the other couple.

I had a cousin copy my theme, colors, and dress was REALLY close to mine.
It ****** me off but I got over it... I had the wedding first. Family members knew where she got it from. To me, that's all that mattered...
