Cost of inspection - House Masters

Because of recommendations from this site and from my REA, I made an appointment with House Masters to inspect the house on Friday. They told me it costs $575 for their basic package (including termite inspection, no mold, lead, or radon) and there was no negotiating it down.

I just did a search here on LIF and found that not one person paid that amount for their inspection. People who used House Masters recently - did you pay $575? Am I getting ripped off here?

Dava yes that is what we paid and it was well worth it. DH walked through the whole thing with him and was even on the roof with the guy. the extra money also includes the bug inspection which is a must!!! housemaster does their inspection through a laptop so everything is uploaded (either as they go or at the end - id have to ask DH) and the report is generated very quickly. DH was very impressed with the job they did. we have been in the house over a year now and there really hasnt been anything that happened or came up that we didnt already know about.

I would def recommend them!

eta from what i understand that is pretty close to what most charge

I used Korine Assoc. and thats what we paid including termite. The inspection was not something I was willing to cheap out on.

We paid alot less with a diff company but we had a condo inspection done, not a house... We used WINI.com

I just had my inspection done today with a company my REA and LIFers recommended for 475,...that included pictures, termites inspection and 2 inspectors coming out.

Let me know if you are willing to consider them. It was amazingly thorough.

We used House Detectives for our home inspection last month. He did a really thorough job, and I was impressed with the report he sent us after the inspection was complete. I know we paid less than $575 too.

we used WIN home, twice and they were amazing!! 4 bedrooms 3 bath house about 3000 sq ft cost us $430 including termite inspection. He even went up on the roof in the pouring windy rain which they don't have to do that in bad weather.

They were amazing to work with and have a great reputation! I would use them again and again! I highly recommend them. I called round to a few companies and $575 is ALOT, unless the house is huge!

I used Steve feldman do a search on here for WIN (i've posted it before) or FM me and I can send you his contact info. other people on here have used WIn and steve and loved them too! they give you a very detailed report in a binder that includes pictures!!
