I actually was just reading something about how the Spanish Flu never really went away. It just mutated into a less deadly strain of the flu.
"What’s even more remarkable about the 1918 flu, say infectious disease experts, is that it never really went away. After infecting an estimated 500 million people worldwide in 1918 and 1919 (a third of the global population), the H1N1 strain that caused the Spanish flu receded into the background and stuck around as the regular seasonal flu."
So yes, the goal with any of these viruses, even ones that cause deadly pandemics is for them to weaken over time.
Stop speaking in actual logic, with data and facts. Crazy girl.
I know. I will risk being called the leader of the ship of fools!

People on this thread make it seem like no one has Covid currently and that testing is ridiculous. I have barely known anyone with Covid in the last two years. In the last two weeks, I have personally at least a DOZEN of people with Covid. This doesn’t include all the people on my FB feed who have posted that they have Covid.
What is your point? Because you didn’t know anyone who had Covid before this surge, it didn’t happen? Because all your family who tested was symptomatic, no one is testing out of nonsense and overwhelming testing sites? Or is your point to give opposite examples of what is actually happening! It’s on the news, no one is making this up.
Also maybe your circle was the one who quarantined and isolated longer than usual, so it would make sense your little bubble is contracting Covid now. Especially since the vaccine only helps with symptoms and side effects. It’s really not rocket science. So you are seeing it now but doesn’t mean people haven’t been getting Covid in droves since 2020.
It happened last fall, it happened this fall in 2021 and guess what? Despite your little sample set of examples it will happen again next fall.
I know many people who got Covid last year (unvaccinated) and this year many of my vaccinated family and friends are getting it.

Funny how 99% of the people I know with covid now or just had it were vaccinated. But you know, it's those selfish unvaccinated people.

Well if it's evolving into something that feels like allergies or a cold and lasts a day or 2 than disappears than that's a good thing
Exactly. That is the goal that this virus is nothing more than a cold and that is what it appears to be with MOST cases now.
The goal???? How is this a goal? And what exactly have you don’t to achieve this goal?
Since viruses never go away, yes, the goal is to have them become milder as time goes on so that you can live with them and walk amongst them and live a normal life. Like we did prior to 2020. The goal can't be to have Covid not exist. Because that will never happen. Even the vaccines don't stop the spread or stop people from getting it So isn't the goal for it to be manageable? If not, than what IS the goal?
Clearly the goal is to continue living in fear and cause panic and mass hysteria every Covid/Flu season.

That is what it seems to be happening, on this board and elsewhere. Sad as anxiety only enhances your immune system to break down and cause you to get sick.

I do know people who got it before now but not in this magnitude in a very short period of time like 3 weeks. One of them being my son this fall so I’m not in some little bubble. Everyone in my family is an essential worker - nurses, cops, teachers, grocery store workers - so everyone has been around people this entire time not isolated in their home.
I do believe people are testing without symptoms but I think many people have actual symptoms or have a known exposure.

The vaccine helps to minimize the need for hospitalization and death. If the hospital beds are full of CoVid patients - a majority of hospitalizations and death are of the unvaccinated - what happens to those in car crashes, strokes, heart attacks when there are no more beds because of what I stated above? So, while the vaccines have not helped in stopping the transmission - it has been helpful is lowering sickness to avoid death and hospitalization.

I don't follow the numbers everyday anymore but they never will give you the breakdown of people who are vaccinated or unvaccinated in the hospital or died.
I can tell you from the people I know, the unvaccinated who got it didn't have it any worse than the vaccinated. I know that is not always true but many people are hypochondriacs and will run to the hospital for anything so those people are taking up beds that could be used for others.

My son has been attending in person school and doing travel soccer including indoor seasons, since fall of 2020. My little family has probably been more cautious than others but my brothers and sisters not so much.

This is obviously off topic.. but I don’t know, I went for surgery on Wednesday, one of the biggest well known hospitals in NJ and it wasn’t overwhelmed. My grandfather is in the hospital in FL, no craziness going on in his hospital. I wish people would define the #s when they say overwhelm. And provide facts of these overwhelmed hospitals. When I think overwhelmed, I’m thinking 2020 start of pandemic. I keep hearing this blanket statement of “overwhelmed hosptials”, but don’t see where this is happening.
Now, If we get back on topic, doctor offices and testing sites are overwhelmed because of the hysteria of useless testing.

I believe it's the concern that the trend can overwhelm the hospitals fairly quickly. ETA: I am social with a few doctors and nurses that are in the ER. They are dreading what they feel is coming. One does Urgent Care work as well and she was sharing how overwhelming things have gotten in the last couple of weeks because of increasing CoVid cases and Flu A cases. Now they test first for CoVid and if that is negative - they test for the flu and it's usually one or the other.

You can absolutely find numbers of those who have died and the status of their vaccination.
Link
I am sure you can find more detailed information if you research it.
U do realized that many vaccinated people who have only received one shot or have not yet gotten the booster can be considered unvaccinated, right?
Yes I do. The link I provided even breaks that down in the data.

I know that is not always true but many people are hypochondriacs and will run to the hospital for anything so those people are taking up beds that could be used for others.
using the people you know as a basis is limited and bias and does not help to show a real picture.
Also skewed since hospitals are not admitting those that don’t require admission. So they aren’t taking up beds by running to the hospital as you claim.
