Crib to bed??
DD is currently 15 months. I am pregnant with #2 due in January. I am thinking of putting DD in a "big girl" bed in aug/sept. Does anyone think thats to early? Any suggestions on how to make the transition smooth??
TIA

Re: Crib to bed??
For me, I think it's too young, but I'm sure several people on here have made the switch early and were successful.
I read somewhere that children really aren't developmentally ready to make the switch until 3 years old.
I ended up buying a new crib for Katherine--I just wasn't ready for her to start crawling out and into my room! Also, I wanted her to have as few adjustments as possible before the new baby came.

Re: Crib to bed??
Don't change to a bed until you absolutely have to because DD is leaping out! My friends with 2 year olds in beds are very often woken up by wandering toddlers who just want to say hello. Remember the new baby can sleep in a pack n play, bassinet, co-sleeper etc for months, so you wouldn't need another crib for over a year from now!
