Critique my menu!
We are having a party for about 30 people - all adults. It is a Saturday night starting around 7pm - it will be appetizers and then main courses buffet style.
Let me know if i am missing anything - i know it is a lot, but I love any excuse to cook for a large group
appetizers: white bean dip with pita chips blue cheese dip with veggies stuffed mushrooms arancini (fried rice balls) caprese (either just slices of tomato and mozz or on a stick) wild mushroom tartlets prosciutto wrapped asparagus with truffle oil and maybe shrimp francese
main dishes: baked ziti with meat sauce penne with spinach and prosciutto in a creamy bechamel sauce bruschetta stuffed chicken rolls sliced steak with peppers and onions focaccia bread on the side
Dessert: Chocolate cake with ganache filling and buttercream icing dark chocolate brownie cupcakes italian "easter" cookies with icing magnolia bakeries banana pudding
Thanks!

Re: Critique my menu!
I am not sure if you need stuffed mushrooms & wild muchroom tartlets as appetizers but it's no biggie if you like making them. And I would offer at least one main dish that doesn't have meat otherwise it sounds great!

Good call on the main dishes and having one without meat! I usually always make sure of that and missed it somehow this time. Maybe I will do one tray of baked ziti with meat sauce and one with regular sauce.
Thanks

yes, I agree.
I would knock off two apps and add on two veggies (salad and a hot one.)
looks good though!!!!!

I guess I thought I could get away without any veggie side dishes since there were some veggies in the main dishes - spinach in the pasta, peppers and onions with the steak, etc. Part of it is also because pasta is a perfect side dish in my carb loving world
any suggestions for a good side dish that goes well with the overall italian theme?

broccoli rabe sauteed in a bit of broth with garlic and parmiggiano.

yesss
you could do a light salad -- mixed greens, candied walnuts, dried cranberries, sprinkle of feta, gorgonzola or goat cheese - with a raspberry walnut vinaigrette
then roasted or burnt broccoli
or sauteed spinach with red pepper flakes & a squeeze of lemon juice

Maybe serve the mushroom tartlets for dinner? FYI - I posted a few days ago about peoples go-to salads if you need salad ideas. If you want to add another person, I'm available
