Cruises on RC out of NY?
Ever been on a RC cruise out of NY? Was it too long of a time to spend at sea?
Any info that you could share would be great!
TIA!

Re: Cruises on RC out of NY?
I have no experience with RC but we are cruising out of NY in May. People I spoke to said that it is def not too much time at sea. If gives you time to relax by the pool, etc and there is always something or nothing to do

My ILs have done it on Norwegian and loved it.
The RCCL cruises leave from Bayonne, NJ.

My MIL did it on NCL and loved it. She is also one of those people who says she doesn't need ports, she could just stay on the ship the whole time and be happy.
I wouid like to try it.

Re: Cruises on RC out of NY?
Well we cruised on Holland America out of NY and loved it. I think we had 2 or 3 days at sea on the way down to the Carribean and it was nice to just realx on the ship. There was plenty of activites scheduled for the days at sea and we were lucky that the seas were very calm!!

Re: Cruises on RC out of NY?
as far as royal carribean... i would recommend that cruise line over any other, most definitely.
i have been on cruises out of ny as well as out of florida and enjoyed both... but i did feel like the seas were a bit more rough when you go out of new york and also, it takes you longer to get to the warmer weather - so it can be a little chilly by the pool, depending what time of year you're sailing.

Re: Cruises on RC out of NY?
I have not done RC, but we did NCL. I really loved it. It did not seem like *too* much time at sea. It was July, so it was warm. There was so much to do and the convenience of NYC was great. ( I am not a big fan of flying )

Re: Cruises on RC out of NY?
I've done 2 cruises on Royal Caribbean out of NYC(Bayonne) and I loved it. The extra 2 days make it much more relaxing. The island days are exhausting so it is very nice having the 2 days down and back to relax after having 5 days in the middle where you're busy exploring the various islands. Plus it is great being able to pack your bags as heavy as you want since the weight restrictions on the cruise are significantly higher than that of an airline. Also didn't find the waters to be any rougher on those 2 cruises than my 1 cruise out of Miami.

my parents have done it many times and they *LOVE* it - you don't have to fly anywhere and it is so easy! not to mention my mother said she never realized how GORGEOUS the city is until she cruised out of it - absolutely stunning!

Re: Cruises on RC out of NY?
I did Carnival (Hated it) out of NY and my complaint was to much sea time. I love the islands and couldn't wait to get there.
