Day care moms who pump - can you share your schedules?

Like my other post indicates, I go back to work next week, and Jack starts day care. I'm wondering if other BF-ing day care moms can share your schedules for pumping? Is this schedule I'm planning crazy or realistic?

5:30am Pump (for extra), shower, get self ready
6:30am Nurse
8:00 drop off at day care (nurse?)
11:30-12 Go to daycare to nurse (if schedules allow) or pump while DS gets a bottle
2:30-3 Pump while DS gets a bottle
5:30-6 Pick up DS at day care/nurse

In the evening I'll nurse him before his bath, then just before bed so he'll get a total of 6-7 feedings per day. Does this seem like it's reasonable or am I putting too much pressure on myself?
TIA!

Edited to say I should have titled the post Working moms who pump - sorry, ladies.

Re: Day care moms who pump - can you share your schedules?

I nurse him at 5:30. He goes to daycare and they give him BM at 9. I pump at work around 10. they give him BM at 12. I pump around 1:30. they give him FORMULA at 3. I don't pump anymore during the day after 1:30. I BF him at 6 and 9.

I only pump twice during the day and I have them give him one bottle of formula b/c I am afraid that one day i wont be able to pump anymrore and that he will be so used to BM that he won't take formula.

If you can pump that much, that is great. Pumping is a little hard at work for me. so I get 2 good sessions in and they produce about 7 ounces per session.

Re: Day care moms who pump - can you share your schedules?

well, DD is at howm with nanny, not daycare, but i pump. also- DD is 10 months old now, this is my scheduel right now
7 AM-nurse
7:30/7:45-pump (i pump after i nurse db in AM, nanny comes at 7:30, she wathces db while i do this, and i dont have to get up earleir Chat Icon
then- DB gets bottles at 11 AM and 3 PM. I pump at 12 noon and 3 pm
BF before bed- around 6:30

when i first went back to work, db was 9 weeks old- she was taking 3 bottles while i was gone, but i still only did 2 pumpings at work. when she was aeound 5 months, i added a night pumping before i went ot bed, as i wasnt producing enough to match her.
i dropped this around 7 months, when she dropped a bottle
right now, my supply is awful- i get maybe 4-5 ounces from both work pumpings. however, i had a HUGE freezer stash- aroudn 400 ounces at its biggest, so I am ok as I plan on starting to transtion DB to milk when she reaches 11 months. will probably keep AM and PM nursing for awhile longer, but she will get milk during the day

if you have any questions, feel free to ask, as i've been doing this for 8 months now

He gets up anytime between 5 and 6 and nurses
8:00 Oatmeal
8:30 I pump.
9:00 He gets a bottle
11:45 I pump
12:00 He gets a bottle
3:00 He gets a bottle
3:00 I pump
5:30 He nurses alittle
6:00 Baby food
7:30 Nurses before bed

DS does not like to take a bottle from me but has no problem taking it from someone else. Try having your DH give it to him

Thanks, ladies!

Do you follow the same schedule on days you're not at work? For example, do you try to pump at the same time on Sat as you do on Friday and give him/her a bottle at the same time they'd normally be fed a bottle --- or do you nurse them? If you nurse, do you do it when you would normally pump or when they would normally be fed?

Thanks again!

I do not pump on the weekends unless we are going somewhere. I usually just nurse the same times he normally eats

I nurse btwn 5:30 -7 depending on when we get up

7:00-7:30 drop off at daycare

7:50 - 8:20 pump

pump at 11:00 - 11:30

pump at 1:20

pump at 3:30

depending on how late i stay after work, i may add another pumping cycle

then i pick him up and nurse at home

he usually takes 4 bottles at daycare so i try to pump as often as he eats

he likes many small mealsChat Icon

Re: Day care moms who pump - can you share your schedules?

Well DD is either w/ my mom or MIL but here is what I do:

pump 5:30 am/feed her 8 oz.
pump 1pm (work)
pump 9:30pm

Granted she is now 11 mo. & only drinking 18-20 oz. a day

In the beginning I was pumping at

5:30
1pm
5pm
10-11pm

I also had a stash in the freezer & would give to my mom/MIL if I was short for the day.

Granted I wasn't nursing when I went back to work, just pumping
