Day Care Moms: Would it bother you if a different diaper cream was used on your DC?
Yesterday, DD came home from day care with a really wet diaper (which is a seperate issue all on its own)- and when I changed her diaper, I could see the remnants of white diaper cream in her area. The diaper cream that I give them to use on her is A&D- so obviously it goes on clear- and CLEARLY the diaper cream they used on her was not hers.
Would this bother you?

yes that would bother me a lot - you send certain items with her so that they are used on her....not other children and vice versa!

Yes, that's annoying. You pay for your specific ointment and send it b/c it works for her. I would be annoyed.

I would be annoyed because I would have to ask myself .. whose diaper cream was it? Was it an OTC diaper cream or was it a prescription? What if my DC was allergic to a specific ingredient in diaper creams (zinc, cod oil, etc...)?
I would definitely speak to someone about it.

DS has come home a couple of times in a diaper that were definitely not his. I just chalked it up to them grabbing the wrong one... heck, at least he had one on!
As for the diaper cream, if it happened one time I would ask them about it and ask that they only use the cream that I send. Give them the benefit of the doubt. If it happened over and over again, I would be annoyed and bring it up to the director.

Damn straight it would bother me. Shoot our day care isnt allowed to use ointment unless we sign off on it in advance. I have permission slips for them to use A and D ointment on Abby by the week through December in her cubby at day care so I don't forget to fill them in.

It would bother me and I would say something to the caregiver. We've had a few mix-ups in the past. The first time I let it go, but after that I kindly let the teacher know so that she's aware.

Same with us - I had to fill out all these consent forms for diaper cream and sunscreen and had to list the brands. I would be REALLY bothered if they did that. What if she had some reaction to what they used?

yes that would bother me ~ especially my DS has sensitive skin. (I would be a little annoyed & would say something)

My daycare actually makes us sign specific forms everytime we bring new diaper cream. Same thing with sunscreen. I guess they're covering their butts.

This has happened a couple of times and it was annoying, but I don't let it drive me mad.
She came home with Desitin, which is very unique in it's smell and color.
We use Aquaphor, so it was pretty obvious. We just rolled our eyes and made a mention when we dropped her off the next morning.
