Re: Daycare Mommies
We use home daycare, wonderful lady, and she lives on our block! I love it! I like to be able to have my car time to me (I can play the radio loud, relax on my way to work), I like DD in the car as little as possible and DH can easily pick her up.

Re: Daycare Mommies
I work 10 minutes away from home, so it's close to both.
But it's right across the street from my office.
I would have chosen to keep it close to work either way.

our day care is at my corner down the road from our house. We can walk there. :)

I would put her in a daycare near home. I've been through this before & still feel I made a mistake. Although the daycare is close to my home, it's not in my school district.
You get to know the moms & kids from daycare. Birthday parties start at about 3-4 years old. Later on when she enters elementary school, you'll find a bunch of kids & moms have already formed a group & know each other really well.
I think it's a hard transition & wish I would have known better.
I agree w/Barbara's rationale.
