daycare moms - quick question?
did you write up an info sheet on your LO for their first day? their likes, dislikes, soothing methods, feeding habits, etc? i think its a good idea but my DH is basically laughing at me, saying they wont look at it and will probably just throw it away. i think it will help them help her adjust a little!
hes not making this easier on me

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
we had filled out a questionaire with questions like that, that the daycare gave to us prior to DS starting. I think its a good idea as they have so many kids, atleast the teachers can refer to it when getting to know yours

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
I did...an intro of sorts but I explained that I understood my son would have to adjust to their schedule...I just wanted them to see where he was at with my schedule so that it might explain his expectations.
Good Luck!

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
I had to fill out a packet when I registered him that detailed all of that. We also did an orientation where we met the head teacher and got to talk to her for a while. Other than that, I did not write anything else separate. I kind of figured that they would develop their own routine with him at 'school' (that's what we call it). I worried about all of that too, but honestly, they do a wonderful job with him even if it's not EXACTLY how I would do it. He's thriving and really happy which is all that matters to me.
Hope that helped!

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
I am a licensed in-home daycare provider and this is part of the paperwork that I have the parents fill out.....I would most definately make a sheet outlining exactly what you mentioned

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
I did. My daycare did not give me a questionnaire to complete. The teacher thanked me for it.

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
the teachers in my dd room wanted the info and explained that they want to keep home and daycare as much the same as possible....i.e. when she first started for naps I would put her in her crib and rub her tummy.....they did the same
or for feedings (since she had reflux) I would hold her upright and never force her to finish a bottle, and they did the same.....also she could not be burped midbottle, if anyone did she would stop eating until the next bottle so based on my sharing they never pulled the bottle to burp
I also had visited a few days before so the teachers in the room had asked me some of their questions on likes, dislikes, etc....
Good luck with the transition......remember it is harder on the mommies than the babies.....

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
the daycares that i looked at (there were 2 we visited) suggested we write something about the child..personality, likes, dislikes, etc.
I totally plan on doing that too when DS starts daycare.

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
I did. DS's daycare wanted to know his sleeping and feeding schedule, etc. So I wrote it all out for them when DS first started (almost 3 years ago ). I'll do that when DS #2 starts daycare as well.

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
Absolutely. My daycare gave me a sheet with questions, but then also asked me to type up a description of what a typical day is like for DD. I remember I sobbed the whole time I was writing it.
I think it is a great idea to help them get to know your little one. This was 1 year ago and I still have it saved on my computer-once in awhile I go back and read it

Re: daycare moms - quick question?
My school ASKED us to do that. It's helpful to them and if it makes you feel better, by all means do it!
