Daycare Moms- Does Daycare make a school transition easier?

I am just looking at all these posts of moms sending their 2-3 year olds off and reminiscing of sending off my 6 month old. That was tough, but I guess its equally as tough if they were home with us for 2-3 years.

Will we not be as affected by real school? Just wondering.

interesting question...
I really dont know. I would like to say for myself, Gillian seems VERY adaptable and I am not sure if its bc she went to daycare from the get-go (4 months) or if it is just her temperment as a child. I dont forsee alot of crying and struggle to get her to school.

My mom does daycare and watches kids usually until the age of 4. Most parents have told her that being at the daycare has helped transition into school.

Alex has been at daycare since she was 3 months.

I'll say this - SHE adapts just beautifully to each new class and each new transition.

I, on the other hand, have a very difficult time with it, every single time Chat Icon

My 1st DD was in daycare from 11 months on. she was used to being away and on her own. I knew she'd be fine.

Her first day of school was a memory I'll never forget. I don't who was smiling more, her or me. How could I cry? This kid had a smile on her face so big and bright it could light up a christmas tree.

I've been told my elementary school teachers they can tell the kids in daycare. They get the routine easier, the socialization isn't as challenging for them.

If they've socialized regularly without Mommy, I would think that would make it easier too.l

This is all initially. I think long-term it doesn't make a difference.
