Death Penalty... for someone like Casey Anthony
Let's not get crazy here but would you vote for the death penalty for her if you were on her jury?

Re: Death Penalty... for someone like Casey Anthony
I'm sorry, but sometimes I feel the death penalty is the easy way out...meaning, that's not really suffering.
I'd rather have someone locked up 23 hours a day in solitary confinement...no visitors allowed - for the rest of his or her life.
THAT is torture.

In her case, if I can't have an eye for an eye, I agree with this. Death is too good for her.

I totally agree. There seems to be no remorse from her. Giving her the death penalty is truly letting her get away with murder.
She should have to reflect on what she did over and over and over for the rest of her life. Until it makes her go insane.

you realize though that your tax dollars will pay for that for the rest of her life in prison.
and it contributes to already overcrowded jails.
compared to people who have to be locked up temporarily.
--- I'm for it. My thought is that she'll get what's coming to her in the after life. But I guess everyone believes something different in that aspect.

She is a sociopath - incapable of remorse. She would not suffer by being alive. Death penalty is the way to go in this case.

I'm against the death penalty and the rational side of me says that even in heinous cases like this, it's not right.
However, the mom in me wants to take her out myself-just the thought of how any mom could do that to their little one.

And THIS is precisely why she should be put to death. There's no reason for her to be wasting perfectly good oxygen.

Re: Death Penalty... for someone like Casey Anthony
I don't believe in the death penalty. I have read about too many stories of people who were put to death and after the fact, it appears they may have been innocent.
For me, the chance that a single innocent person could be put to death makes me against the death penalty.
As much as I can see why she should be put to death, I am against it and think she should spend the rest of her life in jail.

Re: Death Penalty... for someone like Casey Anthony
I don't believe in the death penalty even if some people "deserve" it, or even though the criminal would otherwise become a drain on our society with a life in prison sentence.
I don't believe in taking a life to show that taking a life is wrong.

I think even the death penalty would be too lenient of a punishment for what she did. I hope she suffers

I'm not against the Death Penalty.... and for Casey - while it may be too lenient for her...... I'd rather not have our taxes paying to keep her alive.

Agree. While I am not against the death penalty, per se, I just think that is would be so much easier for her to just die. I'd rather her live with what she did (not that she cares) but maybe a little jailhouse justice would make more of an impression then killing her in a kind and humane way.
And from what I have read (not stating this is complete fact as I haven't researched it thoroughly) but it sounds like it actually ends up costing more to put someone on death row then to have them confined to prision for the rest of their life. I think a lot has to do with all of the appeals and extra work put in to trying to make sure innocent people are not put to death.

Im not anti-death penalty by any means.....but I sometimes feel that I would much rather people like her have to suffer and spend the rest of their lives rotting in prison and that the DP is an easy out for them.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I dont think she is capable of being rehabilitated; i hope she rots in hell.
