I'm sorry, but sometimes I feel the death penalty is the easy way out...meaning, that's not really suffering.
I'd rather have someone locked up 23 hours a day in solitary confinement...no visitors allowed - for the rest of his or her life.
THAT is torture.
you realize though that your tax dollars will pay for that for the rest of her life in prison.
and it contributes to already overcrowded jails.
compared to people who have to be locked up temporarily.
--- I'm for it. My thought is that she'll get what's coming to her in the after life. But I guess everyone believes something different in that aspect.
And THIS is precisely why she should be put to death. There's no reason for her to be wasting perfectly good oxygen.
Actually to press for the death penalty is more expensive as it engenders years of very costly mandatory appeals, years on death row. And there was a shortage of sodium thipental (the drug that puts them to "sleep") depending on the state -executions are on hold. I havent researched it much recently so I dont know if its still short and what states are on hold.
My personal belief is that life will be much harder for them in heII on earth in prison than death. I am not an eye for an eye believer.

Judicially I think the death penalty is a violation of our 8th amendment rights.

She is a sociopath - incapable of remorse. She would not suffer by being alive. Death penalty is the way to go in this case.
agree 100%

Death penalty takes a long time and goes through several rounds of appeals before it actually takes place. Would rather have her rot in prison. That poor child

I don't believe in the death penalty even if some people "deserve" it, or even though the criminal would otherwise become a drain on our society with a life in prison sentence.
I don't believe in taking a life to show that taking a life is wrong.
I agree. While I do believe that there are people out there who may deserve to die for their crimes, I cant wrap my head around the idea of purposely, deliberately injecting someone with something that will make them die.

I'm against the death penalty and the rational side of me says that even in heinous cases like this, it's not right.
However, the mom in me wants to take her out myself-just the thought of how any mom could do that to their little one.

Yeah, that's my other issue. So even if it's cheaper for her to spend her life in prison (which I'm skeptical of! And like someone said, eff her rights and her appeals! ), I'll gladly donate to wipe this woman off the planet.
