debate: Dogs at restuarants
and by AT i dont mean IN.
i mean, you go to lunch and you have your dog. you sit OUTSIDE with the dog tethered to your chair.
not inside the restaurant.
how do we all feel about this?

As long as the dog is sitting and behaving - I don't see a problem with it.

Re: debate: Dogs at restuarants
is the chair in the outside part of the restaurant amongst other customers eating?? That wouldn't be ok for me...but if your on a park chair or something, seperate from the restaurant only outside of it, I'd say thats OK.

Re: debate: Dogs at restuarants
Uhm, I prefer to relax and enjoy my food as I am eating...although I love my dog to death, it really annoys me when he sits by us during dinner...

As long as the dog is sitting and behaving - I don't see a problem with it.
Same here, I mean if dogs are jumping on the tables or barking alot then it would be annoying. If not, I don't see the big deal. Typically these places are for a casual bite to eat, no gourmet dinner.

Re: debate: Dogs at restuarants
alot of restaurants near me have outside seating, in front of the restuatrant, like on the sidewalk.
alot of people sit outside if they have their dogfs with them.
we are going to have the puppy with us today, so i was trying to think of a place with outside seating.

right, i mean, the dog lays next to your table as you enjoy your meal.
whats the big deal right?

that's a NO.
I'm sorry.
what you do at home is your business. if Sparky has his own placemat at your dinner table, fine....
but in public, that's a big NO.

Re: debate: Dogs at restuarants
why does it make a difference if its inside or outside? The dog is still next to the table, possibly getting hair in peoples food.
eta: and what if someone at the next table is extrememly allergic to dogs??

so, if youre out with your dog and need to eat you should starve?
how is it REALLY a bother? seriously. a dog sleeps under your table while you eat OUTSIDE.

Re: debate: Dogs at restuarants
I am not a pet person, and usually seeing dogs in stores annoys me, but in this scenario, it wouldn't really bother me as long as the dog doesn't bother other patrons at all.

No. I would not want to be seated next to someone who had their dog at the restaurant - outside or inside.

Totally fine. I see nothing wrong with that. Inside the restaraunt, I personally have no problem with it, but I can understand why others might....

No, I know Im going to get ripped for this, but I HATE this. I dont think dogs/cats whatever should be allowed in a place that has food. Unless its a seeing eye dog, keep them hime. JMO

If it's part of the restaurant's seating and people are there with food, the dog shouldn't be there.

I know, and thats why I have one! i am saying dogs in general, not just little hairless dogs. if you have a hairless dog in a carrier thats one thing. but if you can bring your dog out to eat whats going to stop the golden retriever owners from brining theirs? Thats doggie discrimination
