Decorating opinion please (kitchen) - now with pic of kitchen.... UPDATED! AMAZING WHAT SOME PAINT CAN DO.... **PICS**
My kitchen is small. It's classified as an EIK, but I think that's stretching it.
I want to get a little 3 piece kitchen table and chairs set to put in there. The cabinets are maple and I have a valance on the window that has a striped pattern with red, green, cream/ivory and tan (very country kitchen-ish). I need to paint the walls and I want to paint them a buttercream color.
I found this table on Ikea's website and think the size is PERFECT. I like the table, but I'm not sure it would fit with the syle of the kitchen. What do you think (I know it's really hard to tell without pics.. Ill try and post some later)?
UPDATED:
I painted this weekend (I used Bher's Opal something or other... Im so bad with names) and bought the small table and chairs and it totally transformed the kitchen. Here are some pics.

I love the table, whenever i watch the design show's they say its best to have a glass table in a smaller space to make it seem bigger!
I think it will defin go with the paint sample you posted!!!

Wow! Must be the computer. The color is more like a really really pale yellow (you're talking about the paint color right?).

a glass table willl give the illusion of more space and allow for an open and airy feeling. i think the table is a great size for a small space but keep in mind that it is modern. to soften the modern style, i would add a round sisal area rug and chair pads that match the traditional colors of the window valance.

love the table, I think it will all pull together nicely. and a glass table will make the room appear bigger..

I think it will look good! You can bring the metal finish to the other side of the room with cabinet hardware or our other metal accessories.

Total agree! I think this table would look really cute in this kitchen. and the glass table is perfect for small spaces. Just try to bring in the metal finish in other areas of the kitchen so it all makes sense together. GL!

Yes totally would look great. I would put something of the colors of the curtain on the table. Not the yellow but maybe like a bowl of faux green apples??? It would be perfect

I think the table could work, b/c even though it's metal the chairs have that farmhouse chair criss cross on the back and also the seats lend a pit of country charm.
i agree with skew's suggestion about the rug...
I would set it up with 2 sage placemats and a sisal trivet type of item in the middle with a country pitcher filled with fresh flowers...
the table is small enough that you don't need a tablecloth (and that would also take away the glass benefit that you want) but I think leaving it blank when not in use could lend a coldness to it that would clash with the warmth of the style you are going for.
just my opinion of course.
btw, my kitche colors are similar to yours..I'll see if I have photo of my table set.

The yellow is really subtle (it looks VERY yellow in the pics)... and at certain times of day depending on the sun, the color changes (if that makes sense).
I love it... I love being in there.

We got it off of eBay. I can't remember the seller but I do remember that we just searched for "raised dog bowls" and tons of stuff came up.
