Re: Deleted—Waiting on the King for 70% status

Does anyone know if they still require testing before attending weddings/parties at catering halls? I can't find any updated info on this. I have a sweet 16 next month and I'm hoping this has changed and I don't need to have my toddlers tested.
I have a wedding at the end of next month; as of now, everyone is required to show proof of vaccination or negative test within 72 hours.
I am guessing this specific catering hall has chosen to require it, as the wedding is not more than 500 people.

Going to a wedding next month on LI and yes, it's required. Either a PCR or Rapid Test within 72 hours ( I think) of the reception or a vaccination card dated at least 2 weeks prior to event.
ETA: I guess it depends on the hall and what restrictions they want to have in place.
On the flip side I went to a bridal shower this past weekend with no restrictions- masks weren't even being enforced, though tables were set far apart.
This would be a perfect reason for me not to attend
It was so nice they lifted it as it was like normal :)

Wow ok I thought they all were able to lift that restriction. It was lifted in May.

I'm thinking that this particular hall is choosing to keep the restriction, even though they aren't required to do so (just like some businesses are still requiring masks for everyone, even though they are not required to).

Possibly. That stinks as every wedding and party I have seen has everything lifted.

It is as that means kids who have to go to summer school still need masks and who knows how long he will hold out until September to make that decision. It is just wrong.

Masks at schools are based on the CDC guidelines.

Masks are not being worn in other states. Why aren’t they going by the CDC then?

They don’t have a governor who keeps moving the goal posts….next up, the state with the most vaccinated children!

Exactly and parents are just sitting back and not fighting this.

I don’t think that’s accurate. There is a National group with a presence in many states (including here) fighting for masks to be removed and are anti vaccine mandates. Some moms - (these groups are 99.9% moms I notice) - kept their kids home today and went to a rally. They have organized at BOE meetings island wide, calling in local alt right groups to be a presence and heckle and harass people as they leave meetings.
Many are also un-enrolling their kids in an effort for schools to lose funding and hoping to send a message.
Edited for grammar

True, you are correct. More will have to join if nothing changes in September. More voices need to be heard.
