Delivered via c-section

Delivered a healthy baby boy via c-section.

Does your body ever go back? My midsection looks completely mishapen, and droopy, swollen, like a bowl full of jelly (tmi)... I feel like crap. I don't even want to look at my body in a mirror. Is there anything I can use to tighten it back up even a little? The hospital gave me a belly binder but it's not doing anything.

Ugh I wish I had answers. I have been losing some of the baby weight but my stomach still looks as you described. My stomach never used to be my problem area either.

I don't have an answer, but I'm curious if the binders (maybe a better binder?) would help if worn constantly. I've read up on them, but would love to hear if anyone on here actually used one.

I had 2 kids and have developed a permanent little pooch. It doesn't bother me, though. I earned it!

Congrats!

Give yourself time to heal! No way will your stomach go back right away. My stomach did go back to normal but it took a while to look like what it did pre-pregnancy. For me, my stomach went down after 2 weeks but didn't look like it used to look until 3-4 months. Hang in there!

When did you deliver? You have to give yourself some time. Your body just had major surgery. You're likely still full of fluids. I was so swollen for at least a week.

Re: Delivered via c-section

Congratulations!

I wish someone warned me what my body would look like the first few days afterwards. Yes, huge misshapen "bags" all over. I looked deformed. That will go down once the fluid they pump into you gets out of your system.

My body didn't go back to pre-pregnancy ever, but it will be almost normal - nowhere near what it looked like right afterwards. Your body changes c-section or not.

For this upcoming c-section I will be asking for a belly binder.

I used the belly bandit. I had a little pouch for a while, but my skin was firm. Once I stopped BFing I went right back to my pre pregnancy weight.

Congrats!!! And yes, in time your body will go back to mostly normal. I remember being horrified at what my incision area looked like, But after about 2 or 3 months (I don't remember exactly how long - it might have been quicker) the area smoothed out. And over time my scar has faded a lot. It was pretty dark and kind of itchy/sensitive for about a year, I would say, maybe less. But Now 3 years later, I don't feel it at all and it's really light, almost unnoticeable.

After two c- sections, i have a very small pooch:\ i workout and keep a lean diet but nothing has gotten me back to my original stomach.

I used the belly bandit post delivery. While in the hospital I requested a binder from my OB. My belly looks better than it has in years but I still have a little pouch I don't ever think I will lose.

Re: Delivered via c-section

Congrats!!

Ughhh...I'm 6 months PP and trying to figure out how to get back to "normal" or close to it.
Sadly I don't think it's anything diet or exercise can neccessarily fix but I know it will help somewhat so I'll do what I can. Its so hard to find time with two infants but again, I'm doing what I can.
Give yourself sometime for your body to adjust and keep a clean diet and regularly exercise if you can.

Everyone is different and some people just bounce right back. Unfortunately for me, Im not one of those people. LOL
