Delivery Day Flashback...did anyone else devour food right after delivery?
I don't know why this just crossed my mind, but I remember that after my son was born, I had DH run down to the cafeteria and buy me a turkey sub.
After that was consumed I think I had a krispy kreme donut or two or seven
I remember being so HUNGRY! Anyone else? Lol!

At least you held out till the next day, lol!! I am telling you...I was holding johnny, looking at him and all excited of course...and as the doc was stitching me up I literally turned to DH and told him if I didn't eat soon I'd die.
Talk about priorities

It wouldn't have stayed down that night  I was pretty sick after delivery. But 600am the next day I was ringing DH's cell to run to the store

I couldn't eat until I had a bowel movement so it was torture eating liquidity stuff. Finally when I was able to eat solids again, I scoffed down anything the hospital gave me...Left a clean plate. I even ate things I didn't like.

OMG yes, I was starving. I scarfed down a turkey sandwhich that they gave me in the recovery room and then had my family go down to the caf and get me ANOTHER turkey sandwhich.

Yes!! After they took Lucas away I had DH go down to get a sandwich and diet pepsi  I couldn't finish it but I was happy.
The next day he had instructions to go get a turkey and provelone hero - that I devoured.

I didn't eat coldcuts the entire time i was pregnant so I told DH that all I wanted was a bologna and cheese sandwich after Hailey was born. I wasn't allowed to have solid foods for almost two days due to a high fever that they had no idea why I had so thankfully DH had spoke to my Dr before coming up with the sandwich (I would have been devastated ) But once I was allowed to eat regular food again he brought me sandwiches from my favorite deli every day for a week! LOVE HIM!

no! I felt like I needed to eat light for days, since I hadn't eaten during the prolonged labor. I remember that the fruit salad my mom brought was the best thing ever.

Yup! I sent DH down to get me a tuna on an everything bagel and a bag of chips and a big old coke! (and I'm not even a soda drinker! LOL)

I was starving when I was first in labor. But since it was SO LONG and then I wound up with a c section, I wasnt allowed to eat until the next day anyway.
That morning I ate hospital food but I was too worried about dd who was in the nicu. I think I finally ate well when I came home.

Yes!
Before I went in, I had a very light breakfast of Cheerios. After that, I didn't get any food or drink until 25 hours later!! I was starving.
DH got me a turkey sub and I ate most of it before I even left the delivery room. Lunch was delivered almost immediately after I got to the recovery room and I ate it all over the next hour or so.

Sort of. I had DD on Saturday, and hadn't eaten ANYTHING since Wednesday afternoon (which was just 2 pieces of cheese)- I wasn't expecting to be induced. I was afraid to bombard my system after not eating for so long that I ate like 20 saltine crackers- but chowed down the next day!!!

Me too! For some reason the coffee, while only decaf, tasted SO good. My dad brought me my fav. bakery cookies in the hosp, too

You know, I thought I would be really hungry since I hadn't eaten more than a candy cane in about a day. But when DS was born, I barely touched the food the nurse gave me that night. DH wound up eating a lot of it.
The next morning though, I was sooo hungry. Couldn't get enough food--I made DH go out and get me more.

I was starving b/c when my water broke they told me at the dr's office to get lunch & head to the hospital...but thinking I was going to deliver w/i hours I opted for a mint chocolate chip shake (a big azz one)....well, I was in labor for 30 hours & then ended up w/ a cs....they had me on liquids for 24 hours after delivery...I was STARVING....I did have DH bring me Burger King when I could eat.

I remember in the delivery room while I was pushing a.. I wanted was am Iced Tea, and begged for it for over an hour, finally DH and my dr. got me one, I drank it so fast I threw it up.
Whenm I woke up I ordered EVERY possible thing I could on the menu
