My DH had a pizza delivered to the Labor and Delivery room minutes after I gave birth He was my HERO

I devoured a turkey sandwich, thinking it was the best thing ever and I don't eat turkey sandwiches!!! My dh brought me chocolate the next morning and I was in love. I couldn't have chocolate or sugar for the last 8 wks of my pregnancy so I was in heaven.

I had a c-section and could only have a liquid diet for the first 12 hours. I was scheduled to be induced at 8:30 am, so I couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight the night before. I had some complications at the end of the c-section so I wasn't really that hungry, but I was so thirsty. I remember the nurse giving me the ice chips in the recovery room and it was the best thing ever.

Is it bad that I have no clue what I ate? DD was born at 2:30am, so I'm guessing I had the b'fast that the hospital provided, but I don't remember. But I remember for lunch & dinner both days, MIL brought us take-out from our favorite restaurants 
ETA: I do remember sending DH to the little new parents fridge on the maternity floor to get me cranberry juice and apple juice afterwards.

YES! minutes after I gave birth they gave me lunch. I scarfed it down in seconds.

I ate steak tips and fries 6 hrs after my c-section. I was starving. Then again, I was in labor 38 hrs beforehand and didn't each much the last 24 hrs.......

i have the BEST story...hannah was born at 1030pm, and they told DH he had to leave (this was like almost 1am)...and, obviously, no visitors in the middle of the nite...
DH "greased the door" of the L&D hall (brought them all dozens of donuts and coffee so he could some see me)....
and in the 2 pockets of his cargo shorts when he walked in were SIX mcdonalds cheeseburgers!!
what a guy!!!

I was not allowed to eat for 3 DAYS (until I passed gas!!!).  I have never been so happy to fart.... Food was coming!!!!

I delivered at 5pm and by time I got to the regular room it was around 7pm, but they saved me a dinner tray. Everyone was shocked to see hospital food be eaten so fast!

Actually, no I wasnt... I was so wired and plus DD was sent to the NICU so I was really worried, so I really didnt have any appetite... my sister bought a bunch of food, I think I took like one bite.

After DS was born he went to the NICU...after I talked to the Dr.'s and calmed down I realized I was starving! My Dad went and got me an iced tea and ham and cheese on some sort of marble bread....it was so good!

The only thing that was open at 2:30 in the morning was a Jack in the Box and I remember having a double cheeseburger and fries-- I hadn't eaten in about 12 hours and was starving.
Unrelated but when Dh picked up my food, he was behind a drunk driver who was throwing up as he went through The Drive through person getting his food told my DH that he gave him a $100 and just drove away without his change. Too funny..
