Wife is standing by, calls him wonderful daddy
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2673267/Man-left-toddler-die-seven-hours-sweltering-SUV-researched-child-deaths-vehicles.html

"She asked the congregation: 'Am I angry with Ross? Absolutely not. It never ever has crossed my mind. Ross is and always will be, if we have more children, a wonderful daddy, a wonderful leader for our children.'
She added: 'Cooper meant the world to him, there was not a day go by that we did not say how blessed we were to have him in our lives.'
Leanna said she had felt compelled to speak in defense of her husband and remember Cooper.
She told him as he listened in: 'Ross I love you, I am doing this for you okay.
'I should be crumpled in a heap of snot and tears into the dirt, but The Lord is holding me up...he is holding Ross up."

"Leanna wanted to obtain photos of her son from the seized computers for use at the funeral, but Cobb County police turned down her request, said Maddox Kilgore, the attorney for Harris."

Agreed! Him looking up articles on death of dogs due to heat and children and car seats etc... at work no less....all totally raise a red flag. I would want to know as a wife why the hell he was googling any of that. Whole thing doesnt sit right with me. And what screwed up grandparents. They are supportive. Get the hell out!!!

^^ now i'm also suspicious that she wanted to get on the computer to attempt to wipe it clean.

Who knows if this is the case, but the fact that she's standing by him and not emotional is sooooooo suspect to me.

Yeah, its all just a little too suspicious to me as well. The only place that they have pictures of their son stored is on HIS work computer? I don't know, I am not buying. I am thinking she wanted to try to delete something off of the machine. I can understand wanting to doubt your husband was this kind of monster, but to not show any emotion after your son suffered so badly and to jump to his defense? If it comes out that she was involved somehow, she needs to fry with him.

It's the home laptop they took from their condo from what i read that she was trying to get pictures from. I can't believe she is standing by him. I would be livid, it's was clearly his fault and highly likely intentional. One witness said when he took the baby out and laid him on the ground his legs and knees were stiff in the position like he was in his carseat and was grey/blue colored. I hope someone leaves him in a car for 8 hours. I'm shocked she is defending him as she is. This whole thing just kills me Chat Icon

I think that is a load of sht. You're telling me that you don't have any pictures of your son on your phone, or crazy enough your camera! You don't take pics with your computer. They started off somewhere.

There has to be so much more to this story and now I think the wife is a piece of sht too.

RIGHT?!?! Or she didn't have a Facebook account where she could use someone else's computer to log on and download photos of her son.?!?! I know her scumbag husband had an account since the media was pulling pics of the sweet boy from his account!

Girl, bye.

'I should be crumpled in a heap of snot and tears into the dirt, but The Lord is holding me up...he is holding Ross up."

So truly bizarre and creepy. "if we ever have more children?" Those words are bone chilling... is she kidding?! I read somewhere they struggled to conceive Cooper. What could possibly be the father's motive to do what he did? I can't wrap my head around all this. It doesn't make sense. If it's true they struggled, then what is your motive here? If you want out of marriage/fatherhood, just leave. And he's a web developer. I imagine he must know something about computers being in that line of work. He had to know leaving all that search history wasn't a good idea. She sounds like a mixed bag of nuts. The funeral is for her dead child, but it's like she's making it all about her husband. "I should be crumpled in a heap of snot and tears into the dirt, but The Lord is holding me up...he is holding Ross up"... Should be, but she isn't? Interesting choice of words... "Am I angry with Ross? Absolutely not. It never ever has crossed my mind."... This doesn't sit well with me. She is absolutely not angry with him and it has never ever even crossed her mind...? Even if, God forbid, I were in her situation... and even if I KNEW 100% my DH was innocent and it was an accident... I would still be angry as hell for his negligence and taking my baby away from me... a week after my child died a painful death and was reduced to a stink in the back of the car, and then standing there at his funeral?? yeah, I would still be angry as all fuk. I would probably need to be sedated just to be there. It would take me A LOT longer than a week to forgive him. I would probably never forgive him. I would probably send him packing. I would probably need intensive help with coping with my grief and forgiving my DH. I don't know how I would react, just trying to put myself in her shoes... a pair of shoes I hope to never be in. She just sounds so level-headed for a woman who lost her only child, the child she struggled to conceive, a week after he died a brutal death. I just don't hear much emotion about her son coming out of her. There's more emotion in what she's saying about her husband than her child.

She sounds very bright, asking the cops for her husbands seized computer/evidence. Right, like that was going to go over well. Sounds like she's covering up... and possibly wanting to cover up her involvement? I don't know. I can't understand crazy.

The evidence is pointing to guilty and if he is guilty, I hope he gets what's coming to him and doesn't get off like Casey Anthony. Honestly, I don't believe he deserves the death penalty. For what? He'll sit on death row for a lifetime, fighting appeal after appeal, and finally be put down in a quick humane way. Was what happened to his son quick and humane? Eye for an eye works fine for me. Maximize the pain and force him to look at images of his son. And if the wife was involved, same goes for her. No sympathy here.

I saw they have a gofundme account and have like 38k raised out of 50k. I feel this wife is def involved. Even if my husband innocently did this I would probably never speak w him again. I don't care if that sounds wrong. In my book this isn't an accident you make which is why it is so obvious to is it was intentional.

Exactly. I struggled to conceive dd and I've been so sick to the core even thinking about this story and it wasn't even my child. There is no way if Gd forbid I was in the situation would I sound like this woman. I would have to be sedated 24/7 and I would never be able to forgive dh, or even look at him, without wanted to attack him.

There's something not right here and that is an understatement.

No God that I believe in should be holding them up. This is just sick. ,sick, sick, sick. There are no other words. She had something to do with it. Sterilize both of them so no other child suffers at the hands of these monsters.

Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation

Ok I know I said I need to stop reading more details but I can't stop myself. The mother said at the funeral how cooper didn't sleep well his last two nights and came into bed with them. Something about that doesn't sit right with me. I don't know why either b that is a parent thing to do.

Also that SOB called into the funeral from jail. What he said to everyone didn't even seem emotional.

My child is 7, and every morning he still curls up into our beds to cuddle. He has been doing this almost his entire life and it's my favorite time of day. Every morning when we cuddle and talk, I thank god for that special time together and secretly pray that I get to do it again tomorrow morning. Horrible accidents happen every day and I never take anything for granted. To have your baby in your bed with you, take him out for breakfast, spend that kind of beautiful time with your child, and brutally murder your child right after all of that is just mind blowingly awful.

If I am neurotic that this may happen to the point where I'm researching it online, it means I am neurotic enough for it not to happen. It means it's at the forefront of my mind. The worst case scenario. And I am checking that car seat every time I get out of the car. The excuse that he was researching it because he was nervous and then it happened is a huge red flag for me.

Not having used a daycare ever myself I am curious if they have some kind of attendance in place for Daycares. Like if a child just doesn't get dropped off, there should be calls made to the parents to confirm sick. I would think that would help avoid accidental situations....

Whole thing is crazy. I will be interested in seeing as more details come out....
Curious if there are videos of them at restaurant, leaving restaurant..

Exactly I thought about that too. I think my daycare would have called if I didnt to see if my child would be in that day.

I think they're using "The Lord" as a cop out & excusing their apathy for the death of Cooper.

Police: Georgia mom also searched Internet on child deaths in cars

(CNN) -- Leanna Harris, the mother of a Georgia toddler who died locked in a hot car, has told authorities that she previously researched such deaths and how they occur, according to a police affidavit.
Her husband, Justin Ross Harris, the child's father, who is in jail without bond, has also told police that he used the Internet to research child deaths in vehicles and what temperature it needs to be for death to occur, police said.
"Justin stated that he was fearful that this could happen," the police affidavit said.
In the document released Sunday, police say that during questioning Leanna Harris "made similar statements regarding researching in car deaths and how it occurs."

Their son, Cooper Harris, who was 22 months old when he died June 18, was buried after a funeral Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Leanna Harris emphatically told a crowd at her son's funeral she loves and stands by her husband, even though he is charged with murder in the child's death.
"Am I angry with Ross?" Leanna Harris said Saturday. "Absolutely not. It has never crossed my mind. Ross is and was and will be, if we have more children, a wonderful father. Ross is a wonderful daddy and leader for our household. Cooper meant the world to him."
Police said Justin Ross Harris told them he forgot to drop his 22-month-old son at the day care center before going to work. The boy died after spending seven hours in a child safety seat in the back of an SUV.
Harris was arrested hours after his son's death and has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and second-degree child cruelty.
The affidavit was filed in the application for a search warrant used to seize computers from the Harris home.

The medical examiner's office is waiting for toxicology test results before making an official ruling as to the cause and manner of the toddler's death.

I agree completely. The death penalty is too easy a punishment for something like this. It's like taking the easy way out. This guy deserves to be tortured into a slow agonizing death.

An eye for an eye!!!!!

not all Daycares call when your child is out, unfortunately. Mine doesn't. However I wish they did; I think it may help prevent terrible tragedies like this one.

Here's the thing.

It's horrible enough to think one parent can intentionally harm/kill their own child.

But two??

Two people can both be in on something so sinister? Against something they both brought into the world? Like how do you even broach that subject?

I can't even wrap my head around that, you know?

It will be interesting once the toxicology reports comes back. I wonder if they poisoned him & tried to cover it up?

Are there any eyewitnesses that he took his son into Chick-Fill-A for breakfast?!?

If your so "fearful it could happen" you'd be vigilant about checking your child. I'm always aware of who is in the car with me, how could you not be???

They deserve jailhouse justice.
