Here is my question: if he thought he dropped the baby at daycare, why didn't he go there after work and not start driving to a busy parking lot ?
The daycare was inside the Home Depot Corp office where he worked. Then he claims he was driving away and 10 minutes later noticed his son unresponsive in the back and pulled over.
Right so the day care is in the same place where he works but drives away from there and then claims he noticed the baby. He is just a sick, demented f uck!

Re: Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
I can understand how someonw might put a sleeping newborn in the car and totally forget to make the daycare stop - A SLEEPING, quiet, baby ..........Before that turns into another drama, I'm not saying its right, or acceptable to forget about your kid, I'm saying, I can see how you could put the kid in the car and get all the way to work w/o realizing that you forgot to drop him off b/c he was sleeping and quiet and not making a sound ............
a 22 month old child, even if they can't speak actual words yet is not someone who's quiet for an entire car ride in the morning ........
There is NO possible way, no matter how stressed, in a rush, distracted, etc to forget that a 2 year old is in the car w/ you - ESPECIALLY when you get out of the car and start walking awya - My kids would scream bloody murder if I ever did that, fod forbid!
NO WAY POSSIBLE
Even if this guy was just a total idiot and terrible parent .......(b/c they exist, you can be a bad parent w/o being a murderer) He'd STILL have to realize at some point in the day that he forgot the daycare stop. He works at home depot - it's not exactly high stress ........so, yeah, he's a murderer. He gets zero benefit of the doubt from me.

Like I said earlier, everyone is entitled to their opinion on this guy,
With that said.... all signs in my opinion point to pre meditated murder. I believe this guy meant to do what he did.

VERY good point - if he was working on just pure habit/memory, I would think that would have been his first trip.
There are too many things that make me
At that age, the child would have been talking up a storm during the drive (at least the 20+ month old children in my family and friend group do). Sure kids fall asleep in car rides, but at that hour, I find it hard to believe. My nephew is 22 months and hasn't been quiet on drives around town since he was 13 months. Now, he says everything he sees - car, red car, blue car, my car, train, bus, etc etc etc.
I have to agree. My dd is 13 months and babbles non stop to daycare. She's also always doing something like trying to take her shoes off, she's no way quiet.

I hate to say anything to remotely defend this man, but I just have to say that every kid is different. DD could sit in silence for a 30 minute car ride. Not sleeping, just looking out the window. She normally never stops talking but rfing in the car she is very quiet for some reason.
Just watched an interview on HLN that said it's very likely that after 7 hours with that heat, there would be an odor in the car. Sorry, but you don't drive a mile or even take the time to turn into a shopping center in that case.

And what gets me is this:
So he leaves his house with his son. Buckles him in, stops for breakfast. Unbuckles child. Goes in restaurant. Eats breakfast. Goes back to car, straps child in and drives to work. Which I can't imagine is far from the Chick fil-A. How ,in that short time frame, do you forget your child is in the car?
It doesn't gel.

The daycare was inside the Home Depot Corp office where he worked. Then he claims he was driving away and 10 minutes later noticed his son unresponsive in the back and pulled over.
So ALLLLLL day long, he had not one thought of his son being left in his car, never being dropped off, even at lunchtime he didn't notice anything was off or hear anything. Then all of the sudden he is driving home for 10 minutes (without thinking that he never even picked him up) and happens to notice that his son is unresponsive? He all of the sudden becomes aware of something? Give me a friggin break. I could only wish they could take this muther effer and put him in a hot car for hours, until he is near death and then take him out and repeat it all over again the next day.

And to top it off, a witness said at first he claimed that his son was choking on something. If you really forgot your child in the car all day, why would you have to LIE about it???

I was one of the people that originally thought that if it was an "accident" then he shouldn't be prosecuted. However, the facts are the facts and this story is beyond sickening. The only thing that should be done is to lock him up inside a hot car for however long it takes for him to slowly die.

Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
I haven't stopped thinking about this. Today when I was leaving the house I went outside to turn it on first to cool off before putting dd in. It was brutally hot in there before I turned it on. I can't imagine what that poor boy went through. I immed got a headache and nauseous again. I can't let my mind go there.
He as guilty as sin. 1 google search 2 chik-fil-a is less than a 1/4 mile from his office. Bs he forget his son in that 2 minute drive 3 surveillance has him going to his car at lunch 4 when he pulled over he claimed his son was choking. Witnesses said the boys hair was so soaked it looked like he came from a pool. Witness also said it was over acted.

Re: Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
What I don't understand is this....
How is someone a seemingly normal, loving father for almost 2 years of the kids life, and then just turn and become this?
He went out to breakfast with the baby. He probably cut up his food, talked with him, the little boy probably was jabbering away while they sat. How does this man sit there and look at this child knowing he has this horrible thing planned?
Obviously I'm not supposed to get it. My 7 year old gets a bruise on his leg and my instinctual mom hormones kick in and I wonder how bad it hurt.
I remember one summer I ran into the house to get something and I left my stepdaughter (who was 11 at the time) in the car with DS who was 1. It was 2 minutes, and my stepdaughter on her own took her ice cold water bottle and just rubbed it along DS' face and neck so he wouldn't be hot. An 11 year old showed more love and concern for a baby than this 33 year old man.

Me too.
It's SO obvious he's guilty, which is why he's already been charged with murder.
Nobody, and I do mean nobody, forgets their kid in the car after having breakfast together and driving a half mile away. NO way. What's that, a few traffic lights??? That story had holes all over it to begin with.
Between that, going back to his car at lunch, and the internet search I think it's abundantly clear what his intent was that day.
Sick, sick, disgusting piece of $hit.

Clearly I'm in the minority, but I refuse to judge this man until all the etails come out in the case. Heartbreaking story either way.
Oh please. Seriously????
He's a piece of $hit.
Yes, that seriously is my opinion.
He did RESEARCH on how long before an animal/person would die from being locked in a car!!!!!
Who on earth does that????? EVER!!
Clearly his goal was to kill his son. NOBODY forgets about their child for 8 hrs in a hot car AND even when he goes back to his car midday still doesn't realize.
He deserves to be JUDGED and TORTURED for what he did to that poor baby.
There is WAY too much info coming out to give that "person" any benefit of the doubt.
ETA - I'm sorry, I just cannot understand how anyone could feel anything other then utter disgust and hatred for this "man". What he did, and he DID do it whether intentionally or otherwise, is sickening.
So I mostly agree with you that it's completely unimaginable to leave my child in the car without realizing (esp after several trips back to the car). I mean I really cannot imagine doing it. I always put my bag in the backseat after hearing about the teacher that killed her child when she left him while she was at work.
ALL THAT SAID, I google searched almost exactly that phrase last week!! I was at Ralphs with my kids and there was all this commotion outside because a woman had left her dog in the car for over 2 hours!! The cops were there and about to break the window and I could not believe the dog was still alive/conscious. It was an insanely hot day and the whole situation was so disturbing to me that I came home and google searched, "how long can an animal be in a hot car before death/injury."
So I guess I feel like since I just googled that with no bad intent it could have been the same for him? I don't know I guess I have to believe that no one could do this to their kid on purpose. Do they even know if it was him that did http://nassau.tweetmyjobs.com/job-listings?careerlevel=&company_name=&geo=true&industry=&page=2&radius=10&remote_ip=173.52.235.144&sort=most_recent&what=&where=nassau+county+nythe google search or someone else in his office? I google so many weird things. I can't understand how people forget their kids in cars but I don't think a google search makes it intentional.

Like others have said, I don't think the google search alone indicates guilt. But - if he thought his son was in daycare all day, then why wouldn't he have gone to pick him up at the end of the day?

Exactly. That would have been his first stop.
And you just don't forget your kid after having breakfast with them just minutes earlier.
I can not give this guy the tiniest bit of doubt. I just can't. He's vile.
I know its hot everywhere being that its summer and all but the temperatures in Georgia where this happen are probably even more brutal. I am in SC and I know that within minutes the car becomes unbearable. My car is broken at the moment and I have to fight with it to turn it on. In the 2 minutes it took for me to turn it on yesterday afternoon my kid was physically hot (sweating, red, whining) and this was with the doors open. I can't even begin to imagine the poor torture this kid went through. I have to stop thinking about it, makes me sick to my stomach.
I was telling my husband about the new evidence that came out and he said this guy will be tortured in Jail by other inmates. (He worked in a Max Security Prison) He deserves a hell of a lot more than the beatings he will get and it in no way makes it even the tiniest bit better but I'm happy to know this.

I don't understand how the google search isn't telling.
If a computer is seized after someone is found poisoned to death by rat poison, and his wife had a search on her computer "how much poison does it take to kill a lot of rats" or something, wouldn't that be a strange coincidence?

Police found on his computer search history where he was looking up how long it takes an animal to die in a hot car.
Then his son turns up dead in a hot car.
That, to me, is as good as declaring "I am guilty!!!".
Sicko.
