^Maybe you've looked it up, but did your child die in a hot car shortly after?
ETA:
IMO- It's opinions like this that make people like Casey Anthony get off with nothing.
No, thank GOD that did not happen. But I'm human and I've made terrible mistakes that could have ended up in a horrible tragedy and thankfully they did not.
And you know what, personally I feel like opinions like mine are the ones that we should have more of. I don't believe in rushing to judgement until all the facts are presented. I thought the saying was "innocent until proven guilty". Not the other way around.
You don't have to understand my opinion, but it doesn't make me a bad person for not agreeing with you.
I'm still standing by my initial opinion. I don't care if if was intentional or a "mistake"....that child died because of this man. He deserves jail time no matter what.
Just because I'm curious...do you feel the same way about people who are watching children who end up drowning in pools?
If they went inside and left the kid out there sure. If it was a split second and they tried to save the kid no. That would be an accident IMO
This man did nothing to help his kid. 8 hrs is not a mistake.

Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
I cried leaving the mall after meeting my mom and my son for lunch. And this animal leaves his son in the car to die on purpose. I just can't.

EXACTLY!
IF his child was still alive and healthy I wouldn't think anything of an internet search BUT his child is DEAD from being locked in a steaming, hot car. That is NOT coincidence, that is as good as guilty.
Maybe I'm just jaded by all the horrible things in the world today but I don't believe everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt, I do think there are evil people in the world that can do unimaginable things, and I am human and I pass judgement. We ALL pass judgement.
I feel there is enough information already which points to the fact that this was NO accident, he KNEW what he was doing and he KILLED his son. If by some chance that isn't the case then I would feel for the man but right now, the fact that it's even a possibility that he murdered his child, is enough for me to write him off.

Just for the record- I do not think your opinion makes you a bad person.
I also don't feel the same about a child who drowned- or even other children left in cars by accident.
The fact that there was any evidence whatsoever that this was NOT an accident- makes me feel the way I do. It's wayyyy too much of a coincidence that he looked up those words and then his kid dies the same way.
Kind of like how Casey Anthony looked up Chloroform...

Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
What gets me is he was 22 months old...not a newborn. He was big enough that I don't see how u couldn't not see him. plus if he went back to his car ur gonna tell me he didn't hear anything? crying, anything? This is the most horrible thing I've heard and my heart breaks for that poor innocent child. Its almost too difficult to wrap my head around.

Re: Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
I think going back to the car at lunchtime would have completely jogged his memory of leaving his child in his car instead of dropping off at daycare. That and the internet search are too coincidental. He should be burned alive but only a little bit at a time. I hope his time in prison will make his life a living hell.

Here is my question: if he thought he dropped the baby at daycare, why didn't he go there after work and not start driving to a busy parking lot ?

I can't wrap my head around it. I read about it with like one eye open and when images start to pop in my head I have to push them away as like a defense mechanism. Because otherwise I start to feel physically ill. Like someone punched me in the stomach. Like Sandy Hook. I can't process it fully or I will fall apart.

Re: Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
Did he admit to going to the car at lunch time to put something in it or did they find out he went to the car some other way?
And I still stand by my thought on the car. If it was a large SUV like it was reported and it had tinted windows and the car seat was rear facing, you would not see the child in the seat. A part of me feels like they were doing the right thing in keeping a 22 month old rear facing...why would he do something like this on purpose?
There are certainly a lot of questions that still need to be answered IMO.

A hyundai tuscon is actually a very small suv. The smallest they make. Not sure if that matters, but you said a large suv.

Here is my question: if he thought he dropped the baby at daycare, why didn't he go there after work and not start driving to a busy parking lot ?
The daycare was inside the Home Depot Corp office where he worked. Then he claims he was driving away and 10 minutes later noticed his son unresponsive in the back and pulled over.

So are we to assume he drops him off EVERY DAY if the daycare is in his office???? Because that makes this even less plausible.

Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
Why didn't he tell police that he took the baby to Chick-fil-a that morning? From what I read, that place is located like 4 blocks away from his job. Did he really forget about his baby being in the car THAT quickly? That's the part that really makes me think this was intentional. If he did this on purpose, I hope he fries.

Thanks. Ugh, the whole story is just horrible. I've watched interviews with parents who truly have accidentally left their kids in cars and they died and the guilt they are left to deal with after the fact is gut wrenching. They are not the same people afterwards.
I wonder why they haven't released more details of the case even though they have them.

VERY good point - if he was working on just pure habit/memory, I would think that would have been his first trip.
There are too many things that make me
At that age, the child would have been talking up a storm during the drive (at least the 20+ month old children in my family and friend group do). Sure kids fall asleep in car rides, but at that hour, I find it hard to believe. My nephew is 22 months and hasn't been quiet on drives around town since he was 13 months. Now, he says everything he sees - car, red car, blue car, my car, train, bus, etc etc etc.

Most of those stories are about infants, am I correct? When parents are still in that transition period, and are crazy sleep deprived, and before the child starts to really talk.

YEP! This is what CNN reported yesterday: "Witness Dale Hamilton told CNN affiliate WSB-TV that an emotional Harris pulled into the shopping center after purportedly realizing he had forgotten to drop Cooper off at day care at 8:30 a.m. The day care is reportedly located at the Home Depot office where Harris works."
