Im glad you came to an agreement. In the future, I would just remember that anything can break while you're dusting
(think of a Christmas Story and the leg lamp)

I think the lamps are cool but am not crazy about feathers in a baby's room. I think they're definitely for when she's a little older (3 yo). Only reason why is feathers gather dust, even if you're dusting regularly. I'm not saying your child's room needs to be sterile but the whole baby & breathing thing is a paranoia of mine ever since dealing with RSV & bouts of croup.
The painting isn't my style. If it means that much to him, the spot next to the closet is perfect. It's not a major display spot. I'd let it go. There are too many battles to fight in a marriage to argue over a room that will likely change in a few years.
Your daugher isn't going to think the painting is creepy because she's going to grow up with it. Later on when her friends visit, they'll probably comment on it & that's when the tradition gets passed down - you will be arguing with a 5 year old over room decor.
