DH's work Clothes - Button Down Shirts

Does your DH take them to the dry cleaner, Iron every shirt, or use a steamer?

All of DH's shirts are coming out wrinkled from the dryer, he is very upset w/ the thought that he may have to actually iron them all Chat Icon

TIA!

Re: DH's work Clothes - Button Down Shirts

I take DH's shirts out as soon as the dryer beeps, so I can hang them right away.

They don't get wrinkled, so he has no need to iron them. Plus, some of his shirts are dockers no wrinkle shirts.

DH gets those no wrinkle shirts. I put them in dryer for a few minutes ( the amount of time it takes for me to load the washer again ) and then take them out and hang them right away. No wrinkles!

He washes them seperatly from everything else.

Then hangs them up as soon as they get out of the drter.

Re: DH's work Clothes - Button Down Shirts

we get them dry-cleaned. I know it is environmentally irresponsible, an extra expense, etc...but it's just what we do.

Actually they aren't dry-cleaned, I'm not sure of the process, but it's like $1 a shirt.

DH takes them to the dry cleaner. Neither one of us has time to iron all this shirts! We barely have time to get to the dry cleaner!

Us too. My DH does his own laundry (thankfully) and he makes sure to take out the shirts as soon as the dryer is done. He hangs them up right away and they are never wrinkled. He also has the wrinkle free dress shirts.

Re: DH's work Clothes - Button Down Shirts

DH only buys wrinke free shirts!!! Chat Icon plus he can get away with a golf shirt or the like for work. Dress shirts for suit he usually irons or takes to the dry cleaner. I am a terrible ironer so he doesn't even ask me! Chat Icon

Re: DH's work Clothes - Button Down Shirts

in college, DH's mom used to do his laundry and iron his shirts (she worked across the street from our school, so he'd drop it off and pick it up) Chat Icon

now that we have our own W/D we just do everything ourselves. he used to get them dry cleaned until we bought a garment steamer and we just use that.

we haven't used our new iron yet... Chat Icon

Re: DH's work Clothes - Button Down Shirts

I am going to answer for myself since DH doesn't wear button down shirts, but I do. I iron a few at a time so if I need one, it's ready. I like them crisp, so taking them out of the dryer isn't enough and I just don't do dry cleaning. I also like to iron outfits for the week so I don't have to think about them in the a.m.

I take all his dress shirts to the cleaners. DH must look crisp for work, so it is the only answer

When my DH had to dress up for work I took all his clothing to the dry cleaners! Now that he's back to driving a truck- I wash all his clothes- doesn't really matter if they're wrinkly!!Chat Icon

Re: DH's work Clothes - Button Down Shirts

He takes them out of the dryer as soon as their' done and hangs them. the few that are wrinkled he irons. About once a month. He used to not have a dryer so he'd spend a goof 5 to 6 hours ironing every one! Chat Icon
