Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
Is your DH/DB going to have a man bag to call his own? I cannot even fathom my DH carrying a diaper dude or anything of similar ilk. He has issues with holding my bag for me even for a few minutes (I know - lovely guy). So, what do the dads usually do?
BTDT moms especially welcome to shed some light on this!

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
I registered for a bag for DH...the camo diaper dude. It's masculine and he likes it. He likes all things camo, really. But knowing him, he'll use it to go back and forth to work rather than for the baby.
And just to be clear, whenever I've asked him to hold my bag he holds it like it's contaminated so any and all passers by can tell he's doing something out of obligation and not holding a purse.

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
I think it's fine, if he'll use it. Also it might be Diaper Dude, but some company makes a jacket that somehow looks normal, but has pockets for diapers, wipes & a bottle or 2. We're getting a Skip Hop bag, that I can carry or can hang on the stroller handles for when DH has the baby.

I'm going to choose one that will be fine for both of us to carry. I think it would be to much of a pain to swithch on and off between the two.

DH and I haven't discussed, but I doubt he'd carry any form of diaper bag. So I'm thinking I'm just going to buy him a backpack.

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
My DH would have carried what ever I gave him, he does care about those things, so that is why after we had the baby I got a pink bag and he still carries it

You all just gave me a great idea for a Christmas present for Phil.
I'd like to get him a custom diaper bag.

I registered for this one for him- but he thinks it's a dumb idea. He will be really infrequently alone and out with the baby. But I said- just in case.

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
I just think it would be a hassle to have to remember to have 2 bags packed, because I know DH woudl just pick up a bag and there wouldn't be diapers or somethng important. So I would rather just have to worry about 1 bag.

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
If DH would carry mine, we would have been fine with just the one but "it looks too much like a purse" so we registered for a diaper dude camouflage bag that he picked out all by himself Since he'll drop the baby at day care when I return to work, it's his / the day care diaper bag.

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
when my DH goes out with DS he takes the Skip Hop bag. I have one in black and one in red. They just look like messenger bags. A diaper back pack is also a good idea. I don't like him to take my bag because I use it like a pocketbook too so it always has all of my stuff in it-wallet, cell phone, etc

I got DH this bag. It's a US Luggage/Solo laptop bag, but it when I opened it it looks like it was designed like a diaper bag.

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
DH got a bag from pottery barn because he insisted he wouldnt use my girly Petunia Picklebottom. So far, guess who's usually too lazy to switch to his own bag...

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
I put "other" because my DH would probably carry his own, but he wont have any issue carrying mine, even if its girly anyway--so we'll probably just stick with the girly ones I have and he'll just use them--he has no issues holding my purse so it will be fine. He'd probably say that a man bag was a waste of money.

I'm getting the same one for DH for Christmas also. If we don't end up using it , oh well! We can just use it as an extra back pack cause it doesn't look like a diaper bag at all !

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
My DH is the same way, he won't hold my pocketbooks at all. When he does he makes such a stink about it!
But, he will be taking care of our baby as much as me so he'll need something to carry the diapers and bottles in. So I will get him a diaper bag that he can carry. Maybe one of the Skip Hop black or olive colored ones.

Re: Diaper Bags for Dads - Yay or Nay
Anyone get this one for DH? I'm thinking of getting for mine for christmas as he'll likely be alone with the baby just as much as I am.
