Re: Diaper Cream/Ointment Question

My PED always told me just powder (if anything) unless there's a rash.

I do put Triple Paste on every night in case she poos.

Re: Diaper Cream/Ointment Question

I don't use anything unless there is a rash and then I load her up with Desitin Creamy. Except for the overnight...I always use diaper cream.

I put A&D ointment on after poopie diaper changes and at bedtime. Ped said no need otherwise.

Same here.

It's more preventative in my eyes.

Re: Diaper Cream/Ointment Question

Thanks for all the replies!!! I think that after his current diaper rash clears up we might start to move towards reducing the amount of cream we use.

I figure we might as well cut back since he's getting older - before we know it we'll be potty training and no need for cream then.

Thanks again!

I apply with every change since his coolie is very sensitive.

Re: Diaper Cream/Ointment Question

hardly ever. I have probably applied it about 10 times in 9 months. I only apply it when her area is a little red.

When she was a newborn I used vaseline at every change but I cant really remember when I stopped.

ETA - she's never had a diaper rash (fingers crossed it stays this way!!)

Re: Diaper Cream/Ointment Question

We used it after every diaper change for and especailly right before bed, sicne he would be in the diaper for a long period of time.

And I think that this is the reason (knock on wood) DS has Never had a diaper rash or any irritation of any kind.

I figure better safe than sorry.

I would only apply it when Jared had a rash.

Same here. Or when I feel like they are going to get one.

Re: Diaper Cream/Ointment Question

DD is 15 months and I still use A&D after every diaper change and use balmex for overnight. I want DD to feel as comfy as possible. She has sensitive skin and can become irritated easily.
