Really love dmy Dipaer champ, but after 2 years and 2 kids, it was time to throw it out. I didn't feel the need for another- even w/ a newborn on the way. I'll just use green bags and the trash can.
I would rec. the diaper champ though.

I will do the baggy in the garbage thing and during the day might even keep a little garbage right outside my back door and throw all diapers in there. It is literally two steps away from my regular garbage and I'd rather just get them outside with very little extra effort. In my opinion, the diaper genie is just extra clutter and and extra thing to constantly disinfect!

I had one 12 years ago with my son and thought it was a waste. It was more of a hassle than anything. Unless they have greatly improved over the last few years, I would spend the money on something else.

I have the Diaper Dekor and I love it. I don't think it was a waste at all. My friend uses a regular garbage can and she said it can get really stinky. I usually empty the Dekor every 2-3 days. I don't let it get really full. I hardly have any smell.

We registered for the Diaper Genie II. Living on the second floor and having to run dirty diapers down the stairs everyday isn't my idea of fun. We will see how it works. My friends have one and they love it.

i registered for the diaper genie for one reason only...we live in a co-op and the garbage is around back of our building so it would be a hassle (and basically impossible) for me to throw out the diapers every single time i change a diaper.

we never got the diaper genie. Honestly we use plastic bags from the supermarket and throw them out. Its simple and it works great!

I have the diaper champ and it's just ok IMO. I like the concept, but I find that it doesn't hold too much and it gets stuck a lot. I guess we just have to take out the bag more often. I just wish it held more.
I probably wouldn't bother getting one if I had to do it over. Just a regular garbage pail would be fine. Newborn poop doesn't smell too much anyway.

We got the diaper champ & are using regular scented garbage bags....I do not plan on leaving the diapers in there for that many days anyway. I just think it is more convient to have something in the nursery since it is on the third level of our house

we have two diaper genies... one on each level of the house... we felt it was a must with two dogs.... we dont produce alot of garbbage dh works nights so i only cook twice a week... the diaper genie works really well at sealing in all of the smells...
